Base won't run

Submitted by jjohnson2499 on May 5, 2006 - 1:31pm

I installed the suite both on my harddrive and usb. The harddrive version runs everything fine but the usb won't run base, but everything else works. Basically I click on the exe, get the splash screen, the little bar indicating the load up process moves to full, splash screen disappears and then nothing. I even copied the exe from the hardrive over and still won't run. Anybody have any thoughts?

btw I've been using PortFirefox for months now & love it. Great to be able to have same history, bookmarks etc at home and work.

Problems running OOo on a Network

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on May 5, 2006 - 10:31am

Hi there

I'm a Physics teacher who wants to use OOo on the school network but the Network manager refuses point blank to agree (despite it being the office program of choice of many of the pupils).

I use your excellent portable OOo from a Flash drive and it works fine on the network, so I tried to load it onto my allocated disc space on the network. This again worked fine, for a day, but now refuses to boot. The OOo flash screen comes up, a second or two passes and then you get a windows error message saying "The application cannot be started. An internal error occured" along with an OK clickable button. Click this and the application stops.

Submitted by blackwide on April 14, 2006 - 5:19pm

hello
for my need i prefer your version to make OpenOffice portable 8-)

howto make it working in french for me ?

first download your file in en-us version
extract all files and directory like you asking to do for the install process

also download the french at OpenOffice.org

http://fr.openoffice.org/about-downloads.html#fr

best way is make a clean install first of OpenOffice on your pc

then in the directory of the portable version delete all files and directory inside "openoffice"

x:\portable_openoffice_2.0.2_en-us\PortableOpenOffice\openoffice

replace with the french version this should be in
