Can't Copy Port. OO.o

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on January 6, 2006 - 9:57am

Whenever I try and copy over the decompressed Portable OO.o folder to my USB drive (OCZ Rally 512MB, USB2.0) I get an error like the following:

//Some File Name// File too deep.

Is there some way of getting around this, or do I have the wrong FS, I think it's FAT (probably 16)?

Moving my settings from OOO to PortableOOO

Submitted by Zane on January 6, 2006 - 7:21am

Hi all.

First of all I wish to say a big THANK YOU to John for it's extragood work: I really appreciate FF, TB and OOO portable!

Just a qeustion about PortableOOO: I have customized my "installed" versione of OpenOffice.org and I'd like to move all my setting to the portable edition, since I'll keep only the portable.

How to? I tried to move "C:\Program Files\OpenOffice\presets\" to "OpenOffice (portable)\settings\user\" but this isn't working as expected.

Thank you very much!

OOo Quickstarter

First, thank you for a wonderful site, and even better set of applications!

I'm having an issue with PortableOOo 2.0.1 on Windows XP. When I start up the program using the launcher, the OOo Quickstarter also launches. This would not be an issue, except that even after I close the Quickstarter, Windows won't let me un-mount my USB Drive. I get the error message "The device (Generic Volume) cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping the device again later."

I checked the Task Manager, and there didn't seem to be any unusual processes running. Any advice?

OpenOffice

Hey I was wondering if it would be possible to break apart the parts of OOo. That would save space for people who don't want the whole thing and it would solve our issue of a stand-alone spreadsheet.

Problem with "Save as" and "Open" in OpenOffice 2.0 Beta 3

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on December 25, 2005 - 1:38am

When I try to "Save", "Save as" or "Open" a new document in any portable OpenOffice application, nothing happens.

I am able to open an existing document from within explorer using "Open with", edit it without trouble and then only "Save" works. Again nothing happens when I select "Save as".

I have installed Portable OpenOffice 2.0 beta 3 for Windows on a USB flash drive. I am working in Win2000 in a non-administrative rights environment.

Virus Warning

Hello Everybody!

My ClamWin AV detects a Virus in the PortableOpenOffice Directory. This is the scan report:

"F:\Applicationen\PortableOpenOffice\openoffice\program\mozz.dll: Trojan.Small-152 FOUND"

Is it a false Alarm or a reason to be worried about?

Thanks for the great work!

Portable OpenOffice.org 2.0 beta/beta2/beta3 crashing

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on December 14, 2005 - 11:15am

First, thanks for all the hard work, John!

I'm having a problem running Portable OpenOffice 2.0 beta/beta2/beta3 on my work computer, but it works fine at home.

What happens is that it when I run PortableOpenOffice.exe it appears everything is going fine. If I try to start a new document or open and existing document, I get an error box that states "Due to an unexpected error, OpenOffice.org crashed. All the files you were working on will be saved now. The next time OpenOffice.org is launched, your files will be recovered automatically." I'd attach a screenshot but it doesn't appear that's allowed in these forums.
