[BaseApp] Warzone2100 Portable:Viewing problems

Submitted by stewils on June 25, 2010 - 8:05am

Upon starting up the screen flickers constantly, like it's out of sync with the refresh rate. In windowed mode the window opens, but nothing displays. It's running, random clicking in the window makes menu type noses, but I can only see the background behind the window.
Have tried unchecking vertical sync, changing resolution, using the in game menu and the portable ini file, moved to data. I'm on a laptop with 1280 x 800 lcd screen.

[Suggestion] Adjust Stellariums Splash

I have a suggestion for Stellarium's splash:
Right now the splash screen png is without the version number. When the program adds it, it is displayed slightly over the word "portable". They overlap a bit which I think doesn't look nice. It would be best if we could change the location of the version number and place it a little higher...

Other than that its great!

Wallpaper Swapper

Submitted by Keithmj on June 20, 2010 - 9:05pm

I have Wallpaper Swapper working some of the time. I have it setup and it works sometimes and if I remove a program from Portable Apps it will work. What would be the reason for this to work some of the time on a Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop with WinXP but it works all the time on my AMD desktop computer with WinXP? Also sometimes I can not get the PortableApps to shut down, it keeps saying that it is still being used when I have everything closed. I did a search on this but didn't find anything about this situation..Thanks

[PChat] Installer-provided X-Tray does not save settings

Prereq data: Windows XP, version 1.1 of PChat Portable. Not installed as part of the PortableApps platform.

Just as the header explains. I can go into the settings page for the installer-provided X-Tray icon, change some settings around (such as disabling tray balloon notifications). However, once I exit the application and start it again, all X-Tray settings revert back to their defaults (i.e., balloon notifications are enabled again). If I replace the PA.c-modified X-Tray plugin with the original one (from the Sinister Developments site), data is saved as per normal.

Skype Portable - multiple instances

Submitted by ratcatcher on June 20, 2010 - 6:49pm

With the standard version of Skype, you can run multiple instances by adding /secondary to the command line.

It would be useful to be able to run Skype Portable as a second instance of the Skype client (ie on a machine where Skype client is already running).

Is it possible to put something in a SkypePortable.ini file to enable this - as one can, for instance, with Thunderbird and some other applications?

Regards

Nick
