Other Apps Support (Deprecated)

Reading the logs from a view days ago, had me have a closer look at uTorrentPortable.

As is known, uTorrent can take quite a while to really finish after it got closed by the user.

When I open a torrent file in Firefox and am asked what to use to open the file, uTorrentPortable.exe seems to work if uTorrent is not currently running, whereas \App\utorrent\utorrent.exe seems to work if it is running, but neither works in both situations. Am I doing something wrong here?

Regarding the latest official release of 7-zip, version 4.65 2009-02-03, and the work done on beta version of this program, now version 9.13 2010-04-15 (7 versions since the official release).

Is it possible to consider updating AppCompactor to the latest beta release ?

I just download GVim portable 7.2

I usually use a couple plug ins and color scheme ,
As instructed in the readme () , I put them under the directory :

Data\settings\vimfiles\

Under that directory I have the following sub-directory that contain my colors and plugins:

colors\
doc\
plugin\

But the Gvim portable did not pick any plygins and colors from that Data\settings\vimfiles\ directory.

Any help is appreciated

Out of curiosity is there any reason you can't set file-type associations to relevant PortableApps portable executables? I know using individual application preferences to do so can be undesirable because it may cause the portable wrapper not to be executed, but I'm wondering if doing it manually would work.

I've done this with image/media files for things like VLC, and also for PDF files with FoxItReaderPortable. However, I use PortableApps as fixed apps on my desktops at home, so I'm not bothered by "stealh" usage. Thus, I've never bothered to check if portability is lost or not.

When one clicks such a link (callto/skype://username), it opens a brand new Skype profile instead of using the current running one. That means Skype Portable users basically can't use links to contact users/numbers.

I am using utorrent portable on my windows home server (WHS) and am experiencing an issue that im hoping someone else might have solved.

The issue is that when I reboot the server or restart the app the list of active torrents is cleared.

I would like to explain the set up I have, and reasons behind the decision i have made.
