Portable Notepad++ & Portable Firefox

SevenFactors's picture

Notepad++ and Firefox two of the best softwares around and as portable apps, is it necessary to say more?

Anyways...

How can have Portable Notepad++ preview the current document that I'm working on Portable Firefox?

When I click on RUN >>> LAUNCH IN FIREFOX Nothing happens. Notepad++ is looking for a local install of Firefox.

Both software are installed on the same USB drive with the PortableApps.com Menu. This is to give you and idea of the structure inside the USB drive. I'm running Windows Vista.

Thanks in advance.

No Menu Items Appear

Submitted by TrickyNick on December 17, 2007 - 10:25pm

I just installed portable app on my U3 Capable drive.

I have the menu up and running, I've installed 2 programs. Neither one of are on the menu. How can I resolve this?

Note: PortableApps isn't installed to the root of my USB drive, it's installed in a sub directory called PortableApps.

Second question: Is there a way to stop the installers from trying to install new programs into "Drive:\PortableApps\PortableApps\Program Name"? I don't want to have to keep removing "\PortableApps" from the install path.

Xampp Issues

Submitted by dayv2005 on December 11, 2007 - 9:32am

I just recently installed xampp portable. I had everything up and running. I even went to my localhost and the xampp screen comes up meaning my webserver was working correctly. And I clicked on the phpinfo() and that popped up and it seemed to be working correctly. With this all in mind I was wondering if im supposed to be saving all my work in the htadocs? Is this like my internet folder for my web server? Because I seem to save it anywhere else it won’t work? Also id there any way to manage mySql Databases in xampp other than doing it web based?

enigma RC1

installed to USB flash on hp laptop with reasonable video/mouse speed, and the intro to the game has the mouse EXTREMELY jumpy and almost useless. once you get into the game itself (or anywhere else on the laptop), the mouse becomes mostly stable...

i assume this isn't a feature? is there some configuration i should check, because taking 5 minutes to start a game that takes a few seconds per round to play is not my idea of fun...

thanks...

lpext_dok_listener issue

Submitted by r.horner.cruzer on November 28, 2007 - 8:19am

During system shutdown I often receive an error message that the program "lpext_dok_listener" has frozen, and it gives the usual two options, End Now and Cancel.

I am using various applications from the PortableApps portfolio, including Firefox, on a SanDisk Cruzer with their U3 launchpad.

Could someone offer more information on the lpext_dok_listener program?
Is it spyware/malware?

Any information or help is greatly appreciated! Smile
