GnuCash not saving settings

Submitted by CLons on July 8, 2012 - 6:57am

Hi all,

I have noticed that GnuCash doesn't seem to be saving any of my settings. Pops up the new user screen every time it runs, shows the same tip of the day every time, asks me every time if I want to auto-save, even though I told it not to ask me (through both the dialog and the settings), prompts me every time to record every time I switch records, even after I told it not to.

I suspected it wasn't saving my settings, so I looked in my settings.ini file, and it looks to me to be default.

Lastpass Pocket.exe / PortableApps 10.1.2 / Windows XP

Submitted by laferme on July 5, 2012 - 11:26pm

Hullo.
I am supporting some people who use password manager "lastpass" and who have the standalone portable version of lastpass called "pocket".
Something strange happens when pocket.exe is executed from the PA menu.

This is PA version 10.1.2;

pocket.exe can be downloaded from https://lastpass.com/misc_download.php and it is the last program on that page (32 bit)- no need to install, only need to copy to target location;

apparently this only is problematic under Windows XP.

It seems very specific problem.

Use of Plugins in PhotoFiltre Portable 7.0

Submitted by tapsklaps on July 5, 2012 - 4:43am

For PhotoFiltre 7.0 there are a variety of plugins. As example let us consider the Screen Capture Plugin. You can find this plugin about this website. In the navigation menu lefthand you click on the entry "Plugins". Scroll down until the entry "Screen Capture". Save the plugin Capture.zip on your hard disc drive and extract it afterwards. Copy now the files Capture.pfl and Capture.txt in the folder X:\PortableApps\PhotoFiltrePortable\App\PhotoFiltre\Plugins.

gPodder Portable has no minimise option

Submitted by floydpink on July 2, 2012 - 3:33am

v2.n has a 'Podcasts - Close (CTRL-W)' option that minimised the app to the system tray so that it could run in the background downloading as per the update interval.

v3.2 doesn't have this option and i can find no way to have it running in the background - a somewhat fundamental function of a podcast downloader one would have thought.

It may be an issue with gPodder itself rather than the portable version, but any help greatly appreciated.

Todolist Portable

Submitted by Manly1138 on June 28, 2012 - 4:06pm

Sorry if this is already posted but when I open Todolist Portable version 6.4.8 I immediately get an error message on screen behind the splash screen that tells me:

"Another version of ToDoList Portable is starting. Please wait for it to start before launching it again."

The splash screen goes away by itself and this message box allows me to hit ok.

That's all I get. So I am unable to run ToDoList Portable at all.
