I want to make this app portable

Submitted by Peter8087 on March 18, 2014 - 3:50pm

I want to make this program portable - http://justgestures.com/download/. If i extract the setup file with 7zip the program can be started from JustGestures.exe and it is working fine, but the problem is that it saves the settings in C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local, i am using Windows 7 x32.

What can i do to change the path for the settings folder? Do i have to edit JustGestures.exe and if yes how to do it?

These are the files from the extracted setup file:

portable apps writing to reg.

I thought it was the idea that being a portable app. on could use on a thumb drive without it writing to the registry on a friends computer but I notice some do, as with PokerTH. I found 29 reg. entries. I can delete the program and shut down and restart and the entries are still there. Where does on file a bug?

Future of ToDoList Portable: Drop It or Mild Fork (Now Discontinued)

I wanted to let folks know that, at the publisher's request, ToDoList Portable is temporarily unavailable. The author has indicated a dislike of the PAF package as some users have apparently been turning to him for support despite downloading it from us, seeing our splash screen, and having our help file next to the launcher. He is also upset by the dataloss issue that occurred with a handful of users who saved their data within the App directory and lost it on upgrade. The base app saves to its own directory by default and the PAF package did not take that into account.

This is a pretty significant problem for me as I have many apps that I make launch when the Platform starts and sometimes I need to leave in a hurry (I have a program that closes all my running apps from my flash drive and ejects it) but whenever I restart said apps, I get error messages. Is there any way I can turn these off and make the apps just restart automatically?

A stupid question?

Hello everyone½!
This might seem like a stupid question, but my late mother told me there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers, and if you don´t ask, you never get the answer. Is it possible to use my USB-drive with portable apps on my Androidtablet, or does it only work with a "real" computer?

Which exe to use?

Submitted by smuike on March 9, 2014 - 1:34pm

I receive a pop-up when I want to start Google Chrome, ERROR: chrome.exe could not be found

Isn't the correct file to start Chrome GoogleChromePortable.exe?
Reinstalling doesn't change anything.

All other apps within running fine.

Any tips most welcome.
