Submitted by Shawn Faucher on April 3, 2008 - 11:46pm
Application: Perl (Strawberry distribution)

Category: Utilities

Description: Perl is a dynamic programming language created by Larry Wall and first released in 1987. Perl borrows features from a variety of other languages including C, shell scripting (sh), AWK, sed and Lisp. Structurally, Perl is based on the brace-delimited block style of AWK and C, and was widely adopted for its strengths in string processing and lack of the arbitrary limitations of many scripting languages at the time.

RunGuard 1.0.0.5 Development Test 1

Submitted by wraithdu on April 3, 2008 - 4:40pm

Application: RunGuard
Category: Security
Description: RunGuard is my implementation of the MS SAFER API in AutoIt3. Use RunGuard to launch applications with reduced privileges.

While functionally similar to DropMyRights, my primary reason for writing this was to have a GPL'd OpenSource implementation of this security measure. Additionally, it works with relative paths, environment variables, and applications requiring commandline parameters.

Question/Feature Request about Xenon Portable File Manager

Aciago's picture
Submitted by Aciago on April 2, 2008 - 1:44am

My apologize if this is the wrong forum but I couldn't find something like "not-supported-yet Apps forum"... Wink

I want to know if there is some kind of cmd to make Xenon open a folder, like, when I click (on PStart or any other menu that support shortcuts) my documents folder the link really points to something like i.e. "Xenon -documents", and then my Portable Documents folder opens automatically in Xenon and not using the default Windows Explorer.

I don't like to open Xenon first and then choose the folder, but do it automatically like when working with Windows Explorer.

I've just posted a pre-release of AbiWord Portable 2.6. This new release features a few updates to the launcher and installer that I'd like to confirm work properly for everyone before pushing this out for general uses.
