I installed what I thought was an update onto my U3, but it didn't override the previous version. How can I delete the previous version? The launchpad now loads the new version. The old version is in folder named: 3C9FB3F, etc... There is no uninstall file.

Openoffice for U3 directory problems

Submitted by Smartguy on January 7, 2008 - 8:39pm

I had downloaded OpenOffice for U3 off of the U3 Download Central and installed it. However, when I try to run it from the U3 Launchpad it gives me an error saying "OpenOffice.org for U3 cannot be started. you may wish to re-install to fix this issue. (ERROR: The program could not be found: \openoffice\program\soffice.exe)" I had tried re-installing it, re-downloading then re-installing it, and contacting Sandisk who told me to come here. I would like to know how to get this to work.

I Have Run Both U3 & Portable Apps On My Flashdrive It Has Been My Experience That
Portable Apps Programs Use Up Less Of The Flash Memory Than U3 & Portable Apps Has A Better Selection Of Software Than U3 The Only Reason I Run U3 Now Is For Foxit PDF Reader I Would Like To See Foxit On Portable Apps In The Future

U3 Gimp

Submitted by casperboy77 on December 22, 2007 - 2:40pm

A long long time ago.... There was a U3 version of the Gimp version 2.2.13 which I have. I loaded it onto my Vista Compatible U3 Drive and when I goto run it I get about 5 or 6 errors, but it does end up working and running. I am just wondering if there is a more up to date version of the Gimp for U3? I know it is a long shot to ask because of U3's shady past but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. Thanks.

Conversion From U3

John,

Could you create a step by step for the conversion
from the 1.5.x series of PFF4U3 and PTB4U3
to the 2.0.0.x series of FFP and TBP.

I think that it is basically copying over the profile but I'm not 100% sure with all the changes from 1.5 to 2.0 [and anything else you might have done for your U3 versions]. Also what are the names of the directories/folders in the Hidden System folder. I don't have access to the information anymore.
