U3 Apps (Discontinued)

how can i convert my own .exe files to .u3p???

i bought a simple kingston usb memory stick 1GB.without u3 smart.can i install the launchpad at my new kingston????

Hi all,

I had a virus detected on my Sandisc U3 drive. Instead of uninstalling apps, I deleted the complete content of the drive.

After that, I removed all the listed software from U3 application but firefox won't go. Now, I can not reinstall it again for it gives the message that it is already there even there is no application again.

What should I do?

Can I run U3 and portable apps OS simultaneously or will they interfere with each other? Thank you!

Downloaded current version and despite installing it to the U3 stick, local drive and also trying to Run from Temp Dir (so all the options) I receive a Windows error

Application Error:

The application failed to initialize properley (0xc0000135). Click OK to terminate the application.

Windows XP Pro Version 2002 SP2

I've seen here and there that John may cease development of programs for the U3 system; I was wondering whether there was any further news on the matter.

A friend just gave me a new flash drive, and it has U3 on it. I haven't played with it yet, but it seems interesting, and I like the auto-run functionality. I also looked at the demo they have on their website (a while back, when U3 was just coming out) and I saw some interesting features (complete customization of the user interface--desktop picture, desktop, theme, etc, unless I got it wrong).

I was trying out my new U3 drive just experimenting here and there. It was fun. Then I just happened to make visible all hidden files and I found that my U3 drive was leaving weird folders and odd files all over my computer. Is this normal? Will it happen on other peoples computer if I use my U3 drive?

I am waiting for the next version of portable apps so I can delete this U3 starter. It makes me just feel so dirty.

Hello every one, this is my first post.
My problem is that I have Installed OperaUSB for U3 from the Download Programs in the LaunchPad of my PNY Attache Flash Drive,I clicked on the link and it doesnt launch, I dont know what to do, because I also have Firefox Portable for U3 and it works nice, other progams also work ok.Could you please help?.

I have had my 1st usb flash drive about 20hours now and am playing with tweaks and settings for U3. I ran across PortApps in my learning about all of this.

I don't know if anyone is interested in this tweak or setting but here goes. I installed Portapps basic (so far). U3 has a program called Xtraveller(program launcher app).

So I added the PortApps start menu to the Xtraveller. I set U3, Xtraveller, and PortApps to all auto launch when usb flash stick is inserted. I also set Xtraveller and PortApps to minimize on launch.

Im looking for a new USB Flash memory, i have seen that some have this U3 tacnology, but i dont understant for what is this...

I see that people talks about run somo softwares like firefox, oppenoffice,etc.but i always used this softwares with my old flash memory whitout U3, i just used Portable softwares....

So for what U3 is important ?

Somebody can explain me ? Im depending on this to buy my new one.
