PortableApps.com Platform

Just setting up a new SSD drive with PortableApps.

Ran the updater option to check app updates. Everything honky dorky.

Came to close PA (as I'm using Portable Start Menu as my PA launcher - not any more!) and PA platform kept coming up with the following error prompt:

"Unable to write to:
PortableApps\PortableApps.com\Data\PortableAppsMenu.ini"

When PortableApps starts, or more specifically, the update runs, it lists a number of apps with updates. But it is not very clear what has changed in each app. How would one easily find the release notes for each app?

I have trouble even finding release notes from within the portableapps.com site. Most of the product pages describe the product itself very well. For a new user of that app - exactly what's needed. For existing users - what has changed between versions is more salient.

The PA.com main menu doesn't scale to Windows' DPI setting. The menu stays exactly the same size in pixels, which is inconvenient for high-DPI screens that really need this setting.

The fonts do scale, but everything get cramped together, as menu items do not scale, and neither does the menu window itself.

Using PA.com 11.2 on Windows 7 x64 and 125% DPI scale.

I always install my portable apps in a directory without the word "portable", because I think it's useless, once they're all in the PortableApps folder. So, inside the "PortableApps" folder, instead of install, for example, my Firefox portable at FirefoxPortable dir, I install it at Firefox dir, but i've realized that when the word "Portable" is suppressed, the updater can't find any new version. If I rename the dir to FirefoxPortable, the updater works fine.

I don't know if anyone else has had this issue, but search turned up nothing, so...

I have a portable game that refuses to stay in the Games category. Every time I refresh the menu, update any apps, or even plug the USB drive in and turn the menu on, it defaults to the Other category.

I understand this isn't very important; it's just an annoyance and I was hoping someone could help me.

Developer,internet,music,picture categories are nice
But my Utilities now contains very different apps.
I want to have own categories and to keep native division (to compare with portableapps.com)
Or to have ability to restore native categorizing.

In regard to PortableApps Platform scrolling, I see two (tiny) problems:

1. Upon expanding a category, it should try to auto-scroll the menu to display as much of the category's contents as possible.
2. Clicking in scrollbar area, causes the menu to scroll-up-one-line or scroll-down-one-line.
   ...it should do a PAGE-UP or PAGE-DOWN.

P.S. ...can't wait for v12!

Right now, when the PA downloader is started (Menu -> Get More Apps), all apps in the list are unchecked. I'm looking for a way to start with a list where I can configure it to automatically check apps of my choice.

Is there any way to accomplish this with the current downloader?

If not, would you consider adding such a feature?
