[Solved] PortableAppsPlatform.exe uses 100% of my CPU (version 1.11)

Submitted by mostacholoco on October 10, 2012 - 9:56am

Hi,

I'm using the PAP in a network unit and since the update to 1.11 the PAP eats 100% of my CPU after launching. Note this did not happen before version 1.11.

Moving the whole PAP folder to the Desktop (or any not networked unit) would also solve this.

Is there any other workaround?

Thanks.

Version 11.1 - Disable Autorun

Submitted by grissey on October 8, 2012 - 4:14pm

I've just installed version 11.1 on my 'c' drive and 2 USB drives.
With autorun=true in the [Protection] section no warning message is displayed on launching PortableApps on my 'c' drive, as it should be.
But after setting autorun=false in the [Protection] section on both USB drives the warning message about autorun.inf is still being displayed.

PortabelApps 11 not updating apps

Submitted by ChuckCortes on October 3, 2012 - 12:04am

Every time I check for updates it says there are updates but when I hit next is closes and says all apps are up to date except they are not. I check them and they have the same version as before and if I do another update check it will show the same apps on the list to be updated.

Any help would be appreciated, for not I have to manually update each app individually till this gets resolved. Thanks.

I'll start by pointing out that I am primarily a Linux user at home. I study full time and the idea Portable Apps has been a god send for being able to use Open Source apps at school instead of being locked in to the propriety junk they have installed there, and being unable to install alternatives due to the admin. The concept of having all my favourite stuff launchable from a USB is fantastic.

How? Please, write short , clear and understandable step-by-step guide.
