While testing that I had fixed the language-switching issues for bug # 34451, I discovered that for some reason, the platform's language environment variables are not being set. I verified in a VM with a clean platform install, but I'm wondering if this is maybe a Win7 issue, or just something that's happened and no one has noticed yet...Or is it just some issue with my machine(s).

I've checked support for this issue, but may have missed seeing it.

I have been using portable apps since version 1, and have current up-to-date apps on a Vista 64-bit home premium laptop.

I have both OpenOffice and LibreOffice installed, but I put LibreOffice in a new category calling it Office2. I did this several months ago, but because I was having issues with LibreOffice and long path name, I renamed the directory this weekend. My Office2 category disappeared, and LibreOffice went back to Office.

PA doesn't start when I plug usb thumb drive into PC. Windows dialog comes up asking if I want options like start WM, open folder, etc. BUT NO PA in task tray.

Any ideas? I have the OPTIONS set correctly in PA application.

I wasn't sure which forum to post this in - sorry in advance if I guessed wrong.

I have a file manager and a separate editor that sit nicely under PA - but I need to be able to have the file manager launch the editor.

The problem that I have is that when I launch the editor directly from the PA menu all is well, but if I close it and then launch it from the file manager the launcher throws a warning "The path to (app name) has changed, since it was last started, from to (b). ....."

I'd like to make a super custom Portable Apps Platform screen. can i add in an image and keep gradient changing ability? if not, does anypony know of a good editor that i can change the gradient to (from the silver one, preferably automatically) or have a vector drawing of it (so i can edit in inkscape portable)? and then put the picture in? also, can i change the paths that the buttons point to (like change document button to my school documents folder, or music to a music video folder inside a portable app's folder)?

How do you get the PortableApps platform point the application install to a specific directory?

I got my portable apps installed at C:/PortProgs/ I don't want to install those apps and refresh settings all over again but I find the auto update over the Portable Apps platform really handy.

Today I just randomly started having an issue with the built in backup feature. While the backup seems to be completing successfully, there seems to be a bit of junk in the "Show Details" window, which looks like this(The Black boxes are to cover up my username). Do you have any idea what is causing this?

Have just installed windows 7 on my laptop and now I have a slight problem with the portable apps menu.
Each time I open it along with the notification icon on the right of the taskbar I get a notification on the left where all the other open applications appear and this cant be gotten rid of without closing the application. Not sure if its a windows setting or a setting in the menu that can be changed but is there somehow it can be removed as it is quite annoying specially since I always run portable applications over actual installed applications for convinience.

came back from a long trip, and decided to update
my portable platform and the programs. turned out
i needed latest version of platform, plus 22 updates
of progs.

fine: platform went smooth, restarted, and then update
of the 22 progs - and the whole thing went into a
crawl - took just about 2 hrs to update the set.

and i DO have a fast (1600 kb/s) aDSL line, that
fairly constant delivers 1200-1400 all the time,
but certainly not this time.

the highest i got was 240, but the average was hovering
around 40-50 - never seen this before. roughly 1/30th
of what i am used to.

When I have VirtuaWin set to Start Automatically when I run the platform, it doesn't always start. If I exit the platform and restart it after this has happened, then VirtuaWin launches. Is there a way to add a short delay, perhaps 1 or 2 seconds, to PortableAppsMenu.ini as an option so it will launch reliably?
