Problems with eject utility

Submitted by ratcatcher on December 20, 2011 - 6:48am

10.0.1
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

It seems to me that there have been some changes to the built-in eject utility in the latest build. Now when I eject the drive the normal PA.c icon is replaced momentarily by a white one and I generally (though not always) get an error message saying that the drive can't be stopped.

Here's what I've done to test it:

1. Close all software that's running from the drive.
2. Go off and make a cup of tea (in other words leave it several minutes).
3. Try to eject the drive using the built-in utility.
4. Get error message.

Add keyboard navigation

I don't know if this is a bug or a feature request, but what I do know, is that keyboard navigation in the PA app isn't working.

If I press win+alt+spacebar, I'd expect the very next action (selecting an app) to be performed on the keyboard as well, but none of the possible keys seem to do anything. I'd expect the cursor keys to move the selection and I'd expect the tab key to visibly change focus between areas.

Basically, much like the windows vista/7 start panel.

Can this be added/fixed in the next version?

[Fixed] Unknown Software Exception when Ejecting

Submitted by OLLI_S on December 16, 2011 - 8:54am

Hello,

I have the PAP (Portable Apps Platform) version 10.0.1.
My OS is Windows XP Professional SP3 (German OS).
The language in the PAP is English.

When I click on the "Eject" button in the PAP then a "Unbekannter Softwarefehler" (Unknown Software Exception) is shown.

The English text would be (this is my translation):
The Exception "Unknown Software Exception" (0x0eedfade) occurred in the application at the position 0x7c812afb".

opera portable process would not exit

Submitted by wulishui on December 15, 2011 - 11:45pm

I don't know something wrong where , when I run opera portable(Vol.11.60)on portabbles.com starter ,the opera portable process would not exit after I closed it, but when I run opera portable directly , the process would exit without anything wrong.
I put opera directly(not portable edition) into PortableApps folder , and run it on starter , the same would happen . So I think there is something work wrongly between portable.com starter and opera.

Directories Hidden

Submitted by pcmedic on December 15, 2011 - 5:30pm

I installed PortableApps Platform 10.0 in C:\Temp\PAS. When I go to Windows Explorer I can see the PortableApps and Documents directories. But when I go to the C:\Temp\PAS directory from the command line all I see is the autorun.inf and start.exe. Why is this? Pardon

Running on Windows 7 64-bit.

Hello there. I just came across this awesome project call PortableApps.com. Having downloaded the platform software, i am faced with some difficulties at the installation. After having chosen my root directory as installation directory, i received an error statement saying : " Error opening file for writing : C:\Start.exe". From here, i can't go on. Might somebody help me out ? If i may mention, the software version i have is the Platform 10.0.1
Cheers, mates Smile
