Submitted by spthomas on January 5, 2012 - 6:14pm

I just installed Portable Apps 10.0.1.0 It installed the "Start" button in the root, then a folder called PortableApps, then within that another folder called portableapps.com then within THAT folders caled Apps, Data, and Other. When I click on Start, the platform comes up, and i working, except there are NO apps listed! All the controls on he platform window work, I just have no apps. And within the Apps folder, the only app folder s 7-zip. I've deleted and reinstalled twice with the same result.

Suggestion: Link App Directory Entry to programs's webpage?

Submitted by JarC on January 4, 2012 - 8:17am

Not sure if the location/path to program's own webpages here on PortableApps are static enough to make this possible. But would be nice if the entries in the App Directory dialog could link to the corresponding portableapps.com pages if you want to know more about a program before downloading it.

recognizing/indicating 64bit vs 32bit apps

Submitted by JarC on January 4, 2012 - 7:40am

Was hoping the new platform would be offering a solution for this (haven't followed the beta and been using a different menu MOD upto now)

What I think is still the biggest PITA is that there's no access to the actual file properties of the programs listed on the menu.

This originates from the fact that program names never indicate whether it is the 32bit or the 64bit version of the same program if it comes with both.

Menu crashes when changing user picture

Submitted by Bruce Pascoe on January 3, 2012 - 5:35pm

This has been happening since 2.0 Beta 7 at the earliest, but I figured it would have been picked up in testing, so that's why I didn't report it before now. Anyway, when changing or removing the user icon, the menu starts causing access violations with every action and often crashes completely. I can reproduce this faithfully, every single time. Must be a buffer overflow somewhere or something.

about the library in the platform

Submitted by luciferlibra on January 2, 2012 - 10:18am

i think it's good to have a library in the platform ! it's really useful !
but now the arrangement of file directory is not very reasonable !
now the root of library is named documents and it contained three files --- music、videos、pictures.
i think it's good to put the file of documents at the same file with other three, for example the file named portablefiles

portablefiles

Trendmicro currently flags eject.exe (located inside App\Bin in PortableApps Platform 10.0.1) as spyware

Submitted by antonbrk on January 1, 2012 - 10:07pm

Trendmicro is identifying "eject.exe" in Portableapps Platform (10.0.1) as carrying spyware. None of the 41 other antivirus programs checked by Virustotal.com did so, just TrendMicro.

I searched here under "eject" but did not see any previous posting regarding TrendMicro or ADW KRADARE.
