Blender 3.5 PortableApps
Windows 11
Installed on a Sandisk Extreme Pro 4GB
This morning I launched PortableApps and started Blender and the Blender install appears to be reset. Previous settings and add-ons are all gone. No issues like this for over 8 months of use. Is their any sort of log to review to see possible malfunctions?
Hi, I wanted to double-check my understanding of the portableapps.com standalone installation / usage as there were a few apps I was interested in using, but I downloaded 2 as a test and neither work - so either I've mis-understood something or there are some issues!
Summary tech info:
When I try to install the helper on MacOS Ventura 13.1.1 I get an error saying it can't write to a weird directory called prefix\Documents where the prefix is garbage - any idea why and what the fix is? I can't see how to attach a screenshot to help.
Getting this error message when trying to update to Process Explorer v17.03 in the PortableApps platform.
"The downloaded copy of Process Explorer (https://download.sysinternals.com/files/ProcessExplorer.zip) is not valid and can not be installed. This could be due to an incomplete download or other network issue. Please try running the updater again when complete."
I figured there must be Is there a setting for this, but I can't find one? Sometimes it will hide to my systray, thus, I won't see it's still active.
As far as I can tell, when updatng apps the platform downloads all the installation packages needed and then runs them. Since I do not update regularly this process can take a long time and fill all available space and fail.
I know you can manually sellect which Apps to update so its possible to manually update them one at a time, however, this is not very convienient and requires some guess work. Yes I could buy a bigger USB stick (not on a USB stick but hey!). Adding more storage just moves the issue into the future and I also run out of space for other reasons.
Most of the time my portable apps platform is open for weeks, and it only update the apps if I manually update it, or I close the platform and restart it again.
I would love to have an auto update apps every week (or other configure time).
I dusted off an old Fujitsu slate running xp tablet edition, had platform 2.12 this no longer connects to update and downloding 2.23 and 2.24 they both crash.
Any one have any ideas?
Why when it is so old? Just for fun, Firefox 43 downloaded and installed separately.
if there is no way to update the platform it is no biggie, but I thought I'd see if anyone had any ideas.
