Hello all,
due to hardware problenms i have to migrate to an new laptop and it is painfiul , so that I plan to run as many portable applications as feasable.
I am new to portableapps.com and like it so far. I habe some questions and plan to write several posts to make things clearer.
I have the most important data on a nextclud server and sync that to a local folder on C:\
I create subfolders for each environment and start from there and this works fine. Does it make sense to assign drive letters to the path of the environments ?`
I am starting to use the Portable Apps Platform for the first time. I have several Portable Apps applications already installed on one of my computer hard drives. How do I add those already Portable Apps programs to the Portable App Platform without losing those programs' configurations?
thank you
I have an error that Chrome Portable automatically closes when running by the command cmd: start "" "%cd%\MyFolder\GoogleChromePortable.exe" --profile-directory="Default". How to fix this error? Thanks a lot if you can help
I installed PortableApps to a USB flash drive and downloaded a few apps. Whenever I try to run an app I get the User Account Control message, "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?" I then select "Yes", the message disappears like normal, but then nothing happens. I've tried selecting "No" and also "run as an administrator" but those didn't make a difference either.
I'm running Windows 10 Home, Version 21H2 (Build 19044, 1889)
Has anyone run into this before?
I am finding the latest version of the portable apps program very disconcerting. The list of programs shuffles everytime I select one to open, sometimes so quickly that I inadvertently open the wrong program, and I have to search the list each time I use it because things are never where I expect them to be. It doesn't seem to follow any logic--like putting the currently used program on top. I have looked for a toggle setting to turn off this feature--if it is intentional--but not found anything.
after system reboot after a unexpected power outage I recieve the error message "I/O error 1392" with OK button. Clicking OK message window disappears, no PA window visible.
Task Manager shows PortableApps.com (32bit) and child task PortableApps.com Menu task in the task list.
PortableApps is not accessible.
Since about 3 weeks the program starts with unusual delay. Installed OS: Windows 11 22H2. newest version.
Does anyone else have the same problem?

Hi,
Anki Portable is not in PortableApps store unfortunately, so I had to download the official .zip of anki and unzip inside PortableApp folder. To launch Anki you have to provide the location of the data folder on your PC. So I had to provide the data location to Anki, I had to create a anki.bat file with:
start "" /b "%~dp0anki.exe" -b "%~dp0../../Documents/Flashcards/"
Unfortunately .bat cannot be added to PortableApps Platform.
