Backup is not successful. Recommends I check my settings. I have details turned on, but the screen vanishes before I get a chance to see where the problem may be. Takes ages (45mins) for the backup to get to nearly finished, then it fails. If I choose backup settings only then it takes 1 or 2 seconds to reach the failure point. Destination is a network drive. I tried backing up to my local HD but still not joy...

Any ideas?

Would it be a great thing to use portableapps on your home theater pc for buisness, media, music and stuff?

I like the Disk space meter on the PA menu,
but i would find more use out of it if i could set it to show used space rather than free space,
is there any way to do that?

My pen drive was robbed. But I have all backups I need.
How should I do the complete restore, of all aplications and documents? Should I download the new plataform? Need help!!!

As someone who has been using PortableApps for a long time and a PC for even longer, this following problem really has me baffled, extremely frustrated and on the verge of being ready to throw something.

Here's the scoop:

Actually, that's a pretty dumb title ...

What I mean is that I mostly work in a very document-oriented way, and I rarely launch apps directly. Hence, I am usually using a file manager as my interface, and almost never an app menu.

So, does the PortableApps menu do anything other than launching the relevant apps, like adjusting paths or environment variables, or cleaning up the registry, or something ?
If I don't use the PortableApps menu at all, do I lose anything in terms of portability ?

I want to customize the Launcher application (PortableAppsPlatform.exe).

Can someone please tell me:

1. The link to the page where I can download the source?

2. The setup I need for my development environment - compilers and any libraries needed?

how can we install a portable suite and portable platform into a flash drive ?

Hi all-Bear with me. I know next to nothing about computers, but am attracted to lite OPEN SOURCE concept. I just installed PA on my netbook to see if they will speed things up. Windows XP would not let me create a new folder at root level. So for time being I created a desk top Portable Apps destination folder. Is this okay?
