Right Click menu addition Request

Submitted by phedlund on July 16, 2010 - 8:12am

I love the launcher but there is one thing that i think might make it easier to use. When it first scans the drive, it picks up all the exe files. It may show 3 programs in one directory or more. The user does not know what program is what (it shows the directory title, not program name) Is it possible to add to the right click menu a properties option to show the full file name assigned to that slot or to add Show full filename. It will make it easier to decide what to hide when starting up the program.

thanks.

Menu scaling problem (120dpi)

Submitted by depp.jones on July 16, 2010 - 4:11am

I'm using V2.0b4 (XP SP3) and on my 120dpi display, all background graphics are scaled up (possibly to fix the icon-position problem that occured on hires displays a while ago). It seems to use the horrible scaling engine, XP uses on icons too, so my menu looks somewhat aweful.

As I use a relatively small (17") screen with 1900x1200, switching to 96dpi is out of the question even with having good eyesight. Wink

RFE: start apps as children of launcher process group so they can be terminated cleanly on exit

Submitted by Bob Bagwill on July 14, 2010 - 9:35am

I use an IronKey thumbdrive which must be locked and ejected cleanly. I would like the PortableApps launcher to be able to cleanly close all the apps it launched.

It wouldn't be a bad idea for PortableApps (the company) to do a little cooperative development with Ironkey.

Can I autorun the Portable Apps program without having to click on the Windows Autorun?

Submitted by rscales on July 14, 2010 - 8:27am

Hi,

Is there any way that I can configure my USB drive so that when I plug it in the Portable Apps program autoruns and opens up the apps menu without me having to do anything or open the program from the Windows autorun box that pops up every time?

Thanks

Backup not working...

Submitted by milesinfront on July 13, 2010 - 12:10am

Ver 1.6!

Backup is not successful. Recommends I check my settings. I have details turned on, but the screen vanishes before I get a chance to see where the problem may be. Takes ages (45mins) for the backup to get to nearly finished, then it fails. If I choose backup settings only then it takes 1 or 2 seconds to reach the failure point. Destination is a network drive. I tried backing up to my local HD but still not joy...

Any ideas?
