PortableApps.com Platform

I recently installed the latest PortableApps.com Platform on my flash drive.
Since then, the name of my drive has been 'PortableApps.com'.
I have tried everything to change it back, but once you rename it, it reverts to 'PortableApps.com'.
Does anyone know how to permanently rename their flash drive with the latest Platform installed?

Well my previous topic seems to have disappeared when I went to update it so I guess I'll just post it again... if it was deleted it would be nice if someone would let me know (and why) so, y'know, I wouldn't make the same mistake. It's hard to learn from mistakes if you're not sure if it was a mistake to being with.

The basis: laptop with lotus notes installed and no admin rights and no synch software installed.
The Question: is there a software that syncs Lotus Notes on the Laptop with a USB-application (guess yes, if yes which one) and a USB application that sync's with the mobile, google, yahoo or any other service?

Aside from categories, which I know y'all are sick of hearing about (and this will be the last mention of them in this topic), here are some ideas I've been tossing around for a future version. By future I don't mean 2.0 or 2.5 or 3.0, I mean... an idealized vision of where I think the platform should be headed. In my opinion, of course.

(and not to start every one manally)?

Hey all. As it stands, portableapps loads and unloads my wallpaper when I insert and remove my USB. Problem is it doesn't work correctly with dual monitors. As it is set now, it takes your image and tries to duplicate it across both montitors - never quite looking right. I created a 'double' side .bmp and placed it, but it just scrunched that to one monitor and duplicated it on both screens.

Is the (increasinly standard) use of dual monitors going to be addressed in a future release? That would be great because it has enormous potential.

each time I do start a portable app, I do get te MS dialog to trust the vendor/developer of this program.

I tried to install the certificate attached to the apps, using the default MS certificate store. This as such did work, but when starting the next app, I do get the same question again...

What did I miss?

Is it possible to change the platform icons/shortcuts? to include commandline switches for individual portable applications? For example I would like to be able to by default start Notepad++Portable.exe with the -multiInst switch.

I was expecting to be able to adjust the shortcuts in the Portable Apps menu via right-click but the only option is to rename the shortcut.

Am I missing something?

I am trying to install PA version 1.5.2 on a Windows XP-pro system and get the following error for all flavors of the installation (platform only, light and standard): "Windows cannot access the specified device,path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item". The installation fails immediately after launching the exe file.

There is no prior thread discussing this problem, so I am stumped why it is uniquely occurring for me. The user account I am using has admin privileges. I have successfully install lot of sourceforge apps using the same account.

How hard would it be to figure out what the Microsoft Autoplay Repair Tool does and have the Platform do the same?

The disk checker in 2.0 beta 3 is good, but I'm thinking in the future, the Platform should have a set of utilities that will help and assist the common denominator among Platform users. The disk check, as well as backup, restore, and the forthcoming updater could just be a start.
