Hi guys,
I noticed there are still some problems with the new patheme-file format. So I made a small tutorial about installing and creating themes for PAP 2.0 beta. It can be found here:
Tutorials

(It's still in german yet. If somebody wants to help me translating it to common english I could send a rough-and-ready version).

Have a nice day,
MrElchbau

----edit----
Now it's available in english, too.
But terribly. I better had to ask Yoda for a translation.

(un) trusted certificates when starting a portable app

Submitted by papua34r on September 29, 2009 - 3:37pm

hello everybody,

each time I start a portable app, I get the MS dialog to confirm / trust the vendor/developer of this program - I guess some certificate issue.

I installed the certificate being attached to the apps, using the default MS certificate store. This as such did work, but when starting the next app, I do get the same question again...

What did I miss?

best regards

Program to big to fit in memory??

Ok.. I know I'm not the smartest brick in the pile some days.. however, I can't figure this one out. I am using the Portable Apps version 1.5.2 installed on an 8gb flash drive. My main machine is a Pentium 4 2.8 GHz w/ 2 Gb of Ram Windows XP Pro Corp machine. When I installed it the first time it was working GREAT.. I love it. I love it so much I purchased a 32Gb Flash Drive so I could make the tools on the drive more complete for my and to have more storage.

Placing PortableApps.com one level below the I: Root

Submitted by DaveMart on September 26, 2009 - 10:20am

First I'd like to say Hi and thanks for a great forum.
Just a small comment on installing the Portable apps platform and suite.
The instructions advise putting them on the root of the I drive.

I am using it with Avast Portable on a Cruzer 16GB Sandisk.
After fiddling around I found that if I install Avast as a LP Launcher Program it will then fire up when I put the drive in and check the computer I am using.

Enhancement for Portable Apps dot com menu

Hi.

I 'm a real fan of this portableapps and [name of illegal site removed - this is your final warning about linking to and mentioning illegal websites - mod JTH] website but I reckon i'd like it way more (heaps in fact) if I could use arrow keys up and down the list with Tab function then enter to open the chosen program.

Can this be made possible by the next release eg not beta?

Thanks all the legendary developers (and hackers) alike you are brilliant bright spark people.

How should I update/replace the Standard build of PortableApps.com Platform and Suite

Submitted by Alan_B on September 24, 2009 - 11:30am

Should I install on top of (and over-write) the existing installation at
H:\PortableApps\PortableAppsMenu.

H:\PortableApps\PortableAppsMenu\PortableAppsMenu.exe is dated 20/11/2006,
and Readme.txt says it is version 1.0 and copyright 2006.

Regards
Alan
