question to all who know and use(d?) both: with versions 1.5 and the soon
upcoming 2.0 getting better and better, and more configurable, is there
still a point for MOD R34, but cosmetics?
are there any important points that have not been ''taken over''? pro/contra?
what is you opinion?
greetings - heinz -
I suggest the following features for the next version:
1. A settings menu - PortableApps has a few settings that are edited through an ini file it will be nicer to have a setttings menu for them.
2. Select applications for auto languages switching - PortableApps version 1.5 added support for switching of application languages according to the menu language.
I want to be able to select applications that will not switch instead of only behing able to disable it completely.
anyone know if there is one.
Possible?
Hey folks,
In the taskbar, the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon has 2 ways of removing the thumb drive. 1st is to right-click and on the popup you have to click stop, another popup is displayed, and you have to select OK. The 2nd way is to left-click, and on the menu, select the drive you want to eject.
Currently the eject feature of Portable apps behaves like the right click, where you have to wade through 2 popups in order to remove your drive. I'm suggesting to operate in the much simpler fashion, if at all possible.
Thanks!
Hi, my PortableAppsMenu is very long, I had 71 Entries!
I wish it had a "find as you type" Search like the Vista Startmenu.
It would help to find and open the programs faster.
Maybe in a future Version?
After I installed PortableApps Suite v1.5 over the previous version, I began to install the latest version of some applications. Although I could finish installing the apps, the application installer would freeze at the end. I had to use Ctrl-Alt-Delete to select the task and end it. Does anyone know why? Is there a fix?
I tried 2 USB sticks on 2 PCs, the results were the same.
Thanks
So far seems to happen after you open the Options.
The whole PAM menu flickers as you mouseover any link.
When I say "flicker", I mean that for a millisecond, the desktop is visible through the menu.
If you close the menu, and wait 2-3 minutes, it behaves normally.
any clue?
I've found that folders opened from the menu (Documents, etc.) don't open maximized even if they were maximized before. This is even more jarring under Windows 7, because Explorer window size and state is maintained globally rather than per-folder, yet the PAM doesn't respect it...
