I am glad to see that the suggestion I made is coming about.
Hy.
I have got a problem whit ultravnc portable. I upgrade the new portableapps platform and i want to run ultravnc, but it isn't run. I click the icon but the program doesnt run. In the older platform the program run well. I install the latest version here https://portableapps.com/node/2031 but the problem is same. I rename the program and i see this in portableapps.com/data/portableapssmenu.txt [AppsRenamed]
ultravncportable\[paf error - missing start]=UltraVNC
Help me.
I recently decided to hide my desktop icons because it's cluttered and to avoid dumping more stuff in it; when I opened the menu, the wallpaper does not swap and it also does it with the older version. Is this a known bug?
So far my only solution is to enable my icons and hide my icons using the ini file.
Is it possible?
I'd like to create a CD that can be loaded on any PC and be up and running with everything need to surf the web and manage documents with OpenOffice.
I know Firefox can be run that way, but what about the rest of the stuff in the suite?
Thanks in advance
I don't mean to be a pain but I've downloaded the standard suite several times and each time the MD5 checksum does not match what is listed on the PA site.
I'm using WinMD5Sum that is on this site to check this out.
I'm really happy to see the new version and I'm looking forward to 2.0 in a couple of weeks, but...
I tried to set the menu language to Hebrew, got garbled Latin letters & symbols. Is this a code page issue? Checked some more: Only Latin alphabet languages are working.
Running English version of Vista SP1, if that matters.
when starting the portableapplication_installer.exe
at least the directory executed from should be inserted
currently: "\portableapp"
my suggestion being: "drive:\currentdir\portableapp"
changing to ".\portableapp" doesnt work (but it detects drive empty space?!?!)
so one has to click on the browse button or put a drive letter
Okay...maybe I'm an idiot (wouldn't be the first time), but, I'm having a major issue installing Suite. I have a 2Gb jump drive and every time I try to install to its drive letter, it starts installing. However, when it gets about 1/4 of the way done, the computer shuts off and reboots. I let XP load back up and go into the jump drive and it shows a couple of folders from the attempted install. Any clue? The jump drive appears to be working fine as I can upload any folder I want to it and open said folder with no problem.
I know I can add a standalone application to the platform by copying the complete application folder into the PortableApps folder. Then by using Options -> Refresh App Icons the application will appear on the menu.
However, I have a problem with this in that some of my applications have more than one .exe file. The platform now lists all the .exe files in the folder individually whereas I only want the single (main) application to be shown. How can I remove the subsidiary .exe files from the menu?
