problems with 1.5.2

Submitted by ottosykora on March 20, 2009 - 2:23pm

With the new version of the platform I encountered some problems.

OK, they are concerning only software not from here, but anyway, the problems were not here before.

Some programms do not start when I click on them in the PA menu. When I click on the launcher exe file in its folder all starts fine but not from the menu even it is displaying there. It did start with the previous versions fine.
(example portable pgp java version)

Other programs have lost icons, thight they have icons on the right place in the appinfo, for example wireshark portable.

Please insert a disk into Drive G:

Hi,

Yesterday, I tried to install PAP 1.5.2 on a folder on my 1 GB USB called Apps.
I think the installation was aborted with error that I don't remember.
After that I can't browse my USB and get message "Please insert a disk into drive G:".
I had many other files on it that are important to me.
I hope you have a solution for this problem.

Thanks,
X

StartUp items in PAP

I Think It's very COOL if PortableApps have StartUp like Windows | Programs | StartUp. So we can put out favorite apps that run while PortableApps run, such as Portable ThunderBird, etc..

PAP Latency bug

Submitted by incognite on March 14, 2009 - 9:47pm

Hi Guys,

Seems the new installer is quite a robust bit of soft, except for one thing..

..when I use the menu to install a program, when I click on the menu (PAP) after the installer has finished it crashes and sends to MS Error reporting.

This only happens after the installer finishes eg, TB or FF and only while the installer page is still open.

My feeling is it is to do with Vista's "did this program install correctly?" and shows that PAP and its' app's arent in full compliance with MS.
