Ich habe die neuen portablen Programme am 2.2.09 installiert.
Auf der rechten Seite auf PORTABLEAPPS.COM lassen sich beim anklicken

Gibt es eine Möglichkeit diese Ordner wie auf der linken Seite

Making PortableApps Menu screen reader accessible

Submitted by clauderenaud on January 29, 2009 - 3:12pm

Hi all,

I'm finally back to the portableApps world after several months of inactivity.
I just downloaded and installed the latest 1.1 PortableApps suite.

As I'm blind I work with a screen reader (JAWS from Freedom Scientific available at http://www.Freedomscientific.com).
The first thing I noticed launching the PortableApps menu is that my screen reader "sees" absolutely nothing, apparently because of a graphical design.
Could there be a workaround to make this menu and consequently the entire suite accessible for blinds ?

Files left behind

Submitted by gntlhnds on January 28, 2009 - 2:23pm

I was under the impression that PortableApps do not leave any traces whatsoever behind on the host machine. I did a little browsing today and found in DocumentsandSettings/myname/localsettins/temp/ many, many folders, and inside those folders were a couple of dll files and a jpeg. The jpeg showed the splash screen of one of my apps. Several of the folders were for Keeppass, several for Firefox, several for Songbird, and I don't know what all else. What are these files that are being left behind? I'm on a W2K machine without administrator rights. Thanks guys.

Would it be possible to cater for physically external apps?

Submitted by PollieXmas on January 28, 2009 - 5:26am

Hi All,

(My apologies if my search did not pick this up as an existing post.)

I'm never able to fit everything I need on a single external disc. My needs always seems to stay ahead of the available capacity Beee

One solution I use is to put all my music on separate discs depending of the encoding format. Each music disc has it's own music player (XMPlayer/SongBirg/Foobar) installed on it so I don't have to reset paths and preferences etc.

PortableApps Show In /Application Data/

Submitted by sgk5765 on January 27, 2009 - 11:24am

Why do the following portable apps:

KompoZer Portable, BPBible Portable, GIMP Portable, Mozilla Firefox - Portable Edition, Mozilla Thunderbird - Portable Edition, AbiWord Portable, Mozilla Sunbird - Portable Edition, and ClamWin Portable

show up in C:\Documents and Settings\My Name\Applications Data\

in the following way: .clamwin, bpbible, Kompozer, Mozilla (Extensions, Firefox, Sunbird), and Thunderbird?

The following, other, portable applications that I run on the same stick such as:

SIW, JungleDisk Portable, TrueCrypt, XnView and MozBackup

appear in the following way:

portableappsmenu.exe locks up

Submitted by smaug9 on January 26, 2009 - 9:52am

I've just installed a bunch of apps on my thumb drive after formatting it. It works fine on my laptop at home. At work, though, it runs fine the first time, but after that I can't click on any of the application buttons. The menu is visible, as is the right-click menu on the systray icon, but I can't actually do anything with the menu, beyond the first click.

Right now, I'm starting the app by double-clicking on z:\papps\startportableapps.exe.

Any hints or suggestions?

Thanks,

Jeff
