Submitted by sartenose on September 16, 2008 - 3:22pm

Hello,
I checked the Thunderbirdportable folder content. The folder ThunderbirdPortable\Other\Source\ contains different language installer and laucher files. I am using a French version.
Question:
Can all the other language files be removed from the folder.
Thanks in advance and have a great day.

FontName=Tahoma

so I´ve found the solution:
the menu.exe seems to read the default theme.ini for the standard settings -> I´ve changed the ini under app buttons from FontName=Tahoma to Font=Tahoma and it works.
Seems that the coding for the fonts is Font=.., not FontName=.

Actually, the same [AppButtons] FontName problem exists in the default theme.ini file under the following sections:

  • [MenuButtons]
  • [OpenMenuButtons]

Also change those two sections from "FontName=Tahoma" to "Font=Tahoma".

I have a file "autorun.ini" in my root dir with

[Autorun]
Open=PortableApps\StartPortableApps.exe
Action=Start PortableApps.com
Icon=PortableApps\StartPortableApps.exe
Label=PortableApps.com

But the run potable apps icon doesnt show up in the options prompt at all!
I cant see whats wrong, I could understand if it was there but didnt work properly....

Okay, I did something stupid. I thought I'd give portableapps.com Suite a try as a new user on a new flash drive.

1) I downed the suite, all 100+ MB
2) Plugged in the new Flash (yes, I erased all files on it first)
3) Invoked the Suite installer and of course it asked where did I want to install.
4) Found Drive D of the 1GB size (I thought, great) and installed
5) Only after I pulled the flash out did I find that the plug contacts were broken off inside the flash housing (I wondered why its light didn't blink during install)

Custom Background Image

Sorry everyone, I am very new to this, but I am having trouble with the custom background image in the Pictures folder on the flash drive. I chose the image I wanted and renamed it to "portableapps_wallpaper.bmp" Now for some reason I can load the image on ANY Vista OS but not on XP Home and Pro. I get a solid color screen on XP. I have tried multiple images and I made sure I tried .JPEG and .BMP extensions, (yes I changed the extension suffix, not the file name).
