Application icons

Submitted by mad3963 on September 24, 2008 - 11:51am

I recently defragged my primary hard drive. Don't know if it's just coincidence or not, but ever since then the application icons on the PortableApps.com Menu will not display. I have tried refreshing the app icons multiple times to no avail. I have tried ejecting and reinserting the thumb drive, no help. How can I get the app icons to display again? I'm on the verge of formatting the thumb drive and re-installing everything.

Extract error

Submitted by David Geers on September 24, 2008 - 6:54am

I tried to install the standard package of the PortableApps several times and every time it ends with an error message it can't extract the toolkit.jar (almost at the end of the install).
Could you please check on it, 'cause this makes the installation break off early.

Thanks!

Cache

I don't know if this has been suggested or is coming in 1.5 but I was thinking, since I have a 16GB USB, I have a lot of apps. Because of this, whenever I load PortableApps it takes a long time to load all of the apps. If there was a cache it would probably take a lot less time. Of course there would be a refresh option and an option to turn off the cache completely.

Portable Apps Menu -- Suggestions

Submitted by Havvy on September 21, 2008 - 11:17am

I suggest a context menu for the items on the menu.

On it, I have the following:

1. Rename -- Change the name that is shown to you.

2. Hide From Menu -- Removes the item from the menu.

I also suggest a new button on the menu, "Show All", which only appears if you have at least one hidden item.

3. Show On Menu -- Makes the item not hidden anymore. Only shows if the item is hidden, and you click Show All and find the context menu of the item you want.

MojoPac Problems???

Submitted by Wraith on September 20, 2008 - 7:22pm

Several Potential Problems with MojoPac?
After Installing MojoPac to an external hard drive connected to a Host PC which uses WinXP Pro and IE and has a Firewall and Virus Scan software installed, I noticed that in the MojoPac WinXP environment when I would do certain functions that it would show up in the Host PC's firewall that a particular program was active although it was activated in the MojoPac WinXP environment?

I also noticed that after installing MojoPac that the MojoPac username and such is filed under the Host PC's Documents and Settings?

unused file uppression

Hello,
I checked the Thunderbirdportable folder content. The folder ThunderbirdPortable\Other\Source\ contains different language installer and laucher files. I am using a French version.
Question:
Can all the other language files be removed from the folder.
Thanks in advance and have a great day.
