PortableApps.com Platform

Like many before me, the platform updater is having trouble downloading apps - and has for several weeks. I have looked through every existing forum post I could find but haven't found a resolution. Unlike many of the 2018 posts, however, I'm on an up-to-date Win10 machine.

The error is:
"Unable to download the file. This could be due to a proxy or network issue or the hosting server not permitting downloads from your location."
which I get for 7Zip, DVDStylerPortable, FileZilla, Firefox, Gimp, Notepad++, Opera, PDFTKBuilder, PicPick, WinMerge, & Workrave.

What would cause some apps not to be available on some machines? Specifically:
..Win 10 machine: Apps > Get More Apps; Irfanview not found, XNView found and installed
..different Win 10 machine: Apps > Get More Apps; XNView not found; Irfanview found and installed

(Love them both. Irfanview is superior for picture adjustments/tweaks and interface with printers. XNView has the better sorting table thumbnails display.)

After installing the platform, one gets asked 3 questions:

1. Run PortableApps.com Platform
2. Create shortcut
3. Automatically start the platform with Windows

Obviously the first question shouldn't be asked again, but what about the other two?
I've tried finding them in Options=>Advanced to no avail.

You can also run the installers directly. As long as you have your portable apps installed to the standard location, they will automatically find your PortableApps.com drive, install and tell the menu to refresh.

The PA.c Platform's updater is unable to update K-Meleon Portable. It may be due to a bug/limitation in the VersionCompare function in NSIS and its ability to handle large dotted 4 versions like 76.45.2021.1204. I'll be investigating the issue and including a fix in the next platform one way or another. As a workaround for now, please download a K-Meleon Portable manually and install it via the Platform's manual paf.exe install to upgrade it.

I've seen that this has been requested many times over a long time.
To help the dev's, I thought maybe we can put all of our thoughts together to get all the features clear

Is it possible to stop the platform from creating the Documents, Music, Pictures and Videos folders? If it's not currently possible, can you please implement it? It's really annoying and unnecessary!

Hi there, I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't find anything in support or using search.

have just installed the platform update version 19.1. the problems i have encountered since are, Libre office will not launch because it informs me i am running windows xp operating system, so it will not launch. also Sumatra PDF portable willnot launch it gives me the same message. Other applications such as Open Office. Audacity, are not affected. Also the app platform does not stay active on the task bar, after an application is started.
