Hi,

I use a Python based portable "audio" player named quodlibet.

After downloading and extracting its archive, I found the two windows shortcuts to start the player and to start the ID tag editor.

The portableapps menu does not show the player, nor its executables, which are one of the sub menus.

Is there a chance to include windows shortcuts, pointing to executables, or the executables, they point to, into the portableapps menu, into the app list?

Best regards,

Martin

scriptable install

Submitted by norweeg on February 18, 2018 - 5:53pm

I'm looking to automate the process of setting up the platform on USB devices for lower-income students who don't have access to their own PC and I was wondering if there is a way to script the platform setup to run silently and install several portable apps automatically without user intervention. I've been googling and googling but I am not finding anything. I can't even find the NSIS source code for the platform setup. Please help! I just want to automate the creation of a bunch of devices for these students

PortableApps Platform - Silent install options with pre-defined apps

Submitted by David-C on February 13, 2018 - 4:13am

Hi,

If this is already documented apologies but I've searched and cannot find.

I'd like to be able to silent install the platform selecting the location and apps to install.

e.g.

PortableApps.com_Platform_Setup_14.4.3.paf.exe /silent /location D:\PortableApps /apps applist.txt

appslist.txt could just be a list of apps :

Google Chrome
7-Zip
KeePass Password Safe
Putty
WinMerge
etc...

Many thanks

(for example) these applications were to be downloaded: https://i.imgur.com/GXIJ831.png
but every request gives an error: https://i.imgur.com/XQkh8Kj.png
- for a long time, certainly for a few weeks.
standard download via www is possible.
So, what's going on...?

Problem Checking Apps update

Submitted by Motim on February 4, 2018 - 2:27pm

Hello,
Some portable apps are on a usb stick. Recently checking for updates get an error notice which says (as copied from the error message): "Unabble to connect to PortableApps.com to retrieve portable apps.
Please try again later. [InvalidZipFilePossibleConnectionOrFirewall]"
I have not done any changes in the system, did not touch anything in firewall settings, and have not any antivirus installed, just windows defender.
System is win 10 pro.
Last week when update still worked - the only update was the platform.
Answers will be appreciated.
