App did not close properly

Submitted by thany on July 13, 2016 - 3:59am

I'm getting this error message that says my VeraCrypt did not close properly. Every time. It *did* close properly. And even if it didn't, it really isn't a problem at all. And even if it were a problem, you don't have to bother the user with it. Just do that cleanup thing and launch the app right away.

This is the latest VeraCrypt and PA.com 14.1.

Uninstalling Firefox leaves behind metadata

Submitted by gwt10 on July 6, 2016 - 10:02pm

I had a corrupt FF profile and decided to start from scratch since there wasn't a lot in there. I right mouse-clicked from the menu and selected uninstall the app as you would normally do.

I had previously renamed it "Firefox 1" in the menu and when I went to do a fresh install, it kept the name "Firefox 1" in the menu, which leads me to believe there is still traces of Firefox metadata left behind within the protableapps platform itself.

How to sync Thunderbird portable with TB when going on trip and returning?

Submitted by grannie14 on July 4, 2016 - 7:57pm

Trying to understand how TB Portable syncs before and after travel. How large flash drive do I need for TBP? When I get back after trip, does TBP back up TB with the changes I made while traveling? Would it be possible to leave flash drive in PC and run TBP all the time and then take the drive on trip? Thanks.

Getting "cannot be run from inside C:\Program Files" with a folder I just created

Submitted by mach128x on June 30, 2016 - 7:32pm

I consider this to be a bug.
It seems the detection routine that ensures the PortableApps packager is not launched from C:\Program Files is flawed.

Any folder name starting with the string "Program Files" on my root is getting blocked, such as "C:\Program Files (portable)" which I had just created to store all my portable apps.

Custom app paths

Hi there!!!

I have a question. I've added various custom portable programs to my PortableApps Menu (i. e., native portable software, not in PortableApps.com format). Now I wont to change the name of the main executable, or the name of the folder, but I can't find the file that contains such information. I've inspected the PortableAppsMenu.ini file, but it doesn't contain the information I'm searching for.

So, where are stored the paths of the custom added apps?

Thanks in advance,
Alpha!

[Fixed] Stray characters in Backup confirmation dialog and OK button inconsistency

Submitted by stfcs on June 13, 2016 - 4:41am

Hi,

I have noticed that when using the conformation dialogue box the all correct button is Ok. Should it not be OK as this is an abbreviation? There were several places where this issue occurred. Any comments anyone?

Also when using the backup facility for a full USB option the completion confirmation message reads has the drive letter plus an extra character "r" no quotes. It happens every time. Could the coding be double checked to see why.

Many thanks,

Clive
