[Closed] Platform 14.0 Erased My Flash Drive [logical errors, fixed]
Been using Portableapps for years. Went to upgrade to the new version today (was ready to make a donation). It totally erased my drive. Anyone else?

Every time I update the portable apps software it totolly erases, resets my Opera web browser? WHY? This happened 2 or 3 times now and it is very annoying having to reinstall everything. Portable apps used to be great software. But lately I have noticed it going down hill. Maybe it's time for a change.
Cannot install App 'SpeedyFox'.

You can start apps automatically as soon as the platform starts, and you can run apps as an admin. Is there a way to start apps automatically as an administrator?
P.S. Hello world!
HP pavilion, 64 bit, W10
I started with version 12.x, and got the error: Unable to connect to PortableApps.com to retrieve portable apps. Please try again later. [SendRequest Error].
Thinking that may be related to there being version 13.0 available, I downloaded that, and updated my copy; I got the same error.
Next, I installed new copy to flash drive, but still get the same error.
Went to Options, Connections, and change from Automatic to direct connection; now it is working.
Wondering why Automatic did not work
My default browser (installed normally, not portable) is Firefox.
Additionally, I have Google Chrome as portable app (as alternative).
If I open for e.g. the website of an app from the context menu in the PortableApps Platform, it is opened in Chrome instead of the default browser Firefox. If I remove Chrome, the link is opened normally in Firefox.
Is it possible to change this behaviour? How does the PortableApps Platform determine the browser to use for links?
I already tried removing the [Associations] Section in the appinfo.ini of Chrome, without success.
I have realized that a new Thunderbird version is updated, but trhough PortableApps Menu doesn't detect the update.
Current version of Google Chrome 49.0.2623.110. Current version of Google Chrome Portable 49.0.2623.87.
Please update the portable version.
Grateful
Ever since the upgrade to PA.c Platform 13, my backups consistently fail with an error that "7-zip can't allocate required memory" during backup.
Even running the command manually doesn't allow for the backup to complete. However, if I run the command manually, instead using my local x64 install of 7-zip, the command runs as expected and I don't get the error.
SysInfo:
Windows 8.1 Pro x64
24GB RAM
Local 7-zip v15.05beta
PA.c Platform v13
PA.c 7-zip v15.14 (Per the PA.c Platform's App folder 7-zip readme file)
Its ridiculous that we have to keep clicking agree when we are trying to make a USB out all the apps. Can you please make it automated so we don't have to click agree when installing the apps onto a USB?
