Hi Steve,
I've got a little more detail on what's happening with the equalize function:
If a destination file is newer than it's source file counterpart, then the destination file's timestamp is reset to match the source file's. HOWEVER - the actual destination file itself is NOT modified (but also, NOT copied to the source). (So the files are still different - but with the same timestamp, and now it's impossible to tell which one is legitimately the newer one.)

I've confirmed that it doesn't make a difference which type of drive is the source vs. destination (i.e. USB or HD).

I have a set of pictures that I took off of a CD. I had them developed from film and put on a Cd at the store. For some reason they aren't syncing properly. I checked the permissions, and they have the same permissions as all my other pictures which sync fine. The link has the sync log. It is mirror update mode.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I didn't see it anywhere...

What do the different colors mean when doing a preview of a sync?

I'm trying to sync a bunch of folders from a desktop to a portable drive and when I click Preview (after setting source and destination), stuff either shows up as black, red, green or blue.

What's the difference?

I am using Toucan to sync from my Vista Ultimate Laptop to my Western Digital Passport book drive. I use Toucan to sync all my media onto the book drive as a backup. I have all my media in a single folder and then in many sub folders. The total of it all is 110GB (23,000 files).

For starters when I tell Toucan to preview the folder it shows everything as Red, which is wrong. It should only be updating around 50 files. No where near all of them.

I haven't looked at all of the forum posts but I did look at some. Is there a user guide for Toucan? I'd like to see if I can use it to replace most of the functions I use DMailer for (mostly files, not any of the other items). The PortableApps page says to read the file that comes with the installation but I can't seem to find one.

Does the launcher of Toucan support the disabling of the start up splash?

When I try to decrypt a file and the two entered passwords do not match
I get a small windows telling me about it
and then the process-windows freezes.

edit: I also wonder why DO I have to enter the password twice upon decrypting.
I downloaded ccrypt and it onlys asks me once upon decrypting.

Hi,
I wanted to make an incremental (encrypted) backup of a selected subdirectory (preview seemed to be ok),
but TOUCAN 2.0.1 started compressing many other files of the surrounding directories too.
The reason may be:
The surrounding path containes some #-characters and TOUCAN uses it somewere to separate files in an internal filelist.
After renaming the source-path it went well.

Trying to restore TOUCAN announces processing of archive, but the marked password is not asked and nothing happens.
Checking the archive with 7zip I found password and content ok.
