[Fixed] LibreOffice Portable 3.5.3 mistakenly offers to install VC runtime when already installed (patch included)

On some computers, LibreOffice Portable 3.5.3 will mistakenly detect that the MS Visual C++ 2008 runtime is not installed when it actually is. We're looking into the exact cause at the moment. If you are affected, you can help us by providing us information on what operating system it's running on and searching your C: drive for the file msvcr90.dll and letting us know where it is installed. We already have a partial fix working, but this could help provide us with a complete one encompassing any edge cases.

LibreOffice 3.5.2 download fails

Submitted by RienTimmer on April 23, 2012 - 5:24pm

When I start the platform it checks for updates and finds LibreOffice 3.5.2.
It starts downloading but fails to complete, 8 or 16 bytes short of the indicated size. The download starts again and fails again. Then the platform gives up with the following error message:

Download Error: Reget Error on file
Outdated download link removed

Am I the only one getting this error?

Background Process

Submitted by FreddyH on April 23, 2012 - 3:35pm

Situation:
I'm using the normal LibreOffice installment (background) as a document converter and "print spooler" using -headles -p -pt and so on.

It is called from "my application", which uses a document queue. The normal executable can be run as blocking or non-blocking in the background. For my use it needs to be blocking, each document in the queue is to be handled fifo. This is required for my application.
The drawback is that i also use LibreOffice for my day to day business.

Question:
So i installed LibreOfficePortable for this task. But:

[Fixed] Extensions not saved during update

Submitted by Bindlestiff on April 16, 2012 - 5:09pm

I had been using LO 3.5.0 and had installed the extension "fixed values for calc". When I upgraded to 3.5.2 the extension was no longer there and I needed to reinstall it. I have updated USB flash drives on both an XP machine and a Win 7, 64 machine with the same results. Is this to be expected? Can I prevent it?

I tried searching but didn't see anything relevant to this.

Update option should be disabled by default

Submitted by kaum on April 3, 2012 - 10:54am

At this moment the Search for Online Update option is activated, but LibreOfficePortable should be updated by PortableApss, or am I wrong? I wonder if it would be possible and be more comfortable if the Online Update option would be disabled by default in LibreOfficePortable?

Or if it is possible to redirect it to a portableapps-Server?

Best regards,

Marc

File Association, LibreOffice, Windows 7

Is it OK now to associate Libre Office files (.odt) with the Libre Office portable app?

I know it was shunned earlier, because by doing that, your associating the file with the the app and not the launcher, but I read in the forums that there were plans to integrate file associations with portable apps. I wasn't sure what the status of that was.
