Pidgin and Wine

Submitted by pnck on September 16, 2007 - 6:32am

I tried to start PidginPortalbe under Wine. PidginPortable was loaded well. But fonts of the interface very much greater. The size of a font nearby 76pt. How I can reduce a font?
There are fonts from Windows in system (Mandriva 2007). There are fonts from Windows in Wine (0.9.44).

FileZilla: Settings not in Data directory

Submitted by MSt on September 11, 2007 - 1:51pm

From the Support page: Settings not in Data directory - Currently, FileZilla stores its settings in FileZilla.xml in the filezilla directory as opposed to the settings directory.

From FileZilla forums, posted by botg (Site Admin) 2006-03-30 19:15:
There's is an undocumented commandline switch for FileZilla to specify the location of the configuration file: /config
Example: FileZilla.exe /config "c:\foo\bar.xml"

FileZilla: Viewing remote files downloads them to C:

Submitted by MSt on September 10, 2007 - 3:50pm

Hi,

I'm using FileZilla Portable 1.4 on USB with Win2k and configured the "File Viewing / Editing" to use Scite Portable. Thanks to your article "FileZilla Portable Support", this was rather easy. Viewing local and remote files works without a problem.

However I noticed, that viewing a remote file seems not to have changed from FileZilla: the file is still downloaded to a windows directory for temporary files (in my case to C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\ ).

Pidgin: "Appear Permanently Offline" only Presence Settings item available

When I right-click on individual Yahoo users in my Buddy List, the only "Presence Settings" item available is "Appear Permanently Offline". In GAIM it gave me 2 others; "Appear Online" and "Don't Appear Permanently Offline". I've experienced this glitch in both the Pidgin full *and* portable versions. Other than that, Pidgin seems to work pretty much the same as GAIM did. Can anyone offer some insight into this strange situation?
