Pidgin: Can't Resize text areas

Submitted by wingmanjd on March 3, 2008 - 11:48am

I'm using the newest version of Pidgin Portable (v2.4). When I double click on a contact to begin a chat, I am no longer able to change the size of the text area in which I type my messages. If I have no window up and I receive a message, the text area is not visible at all. Is this inherent to Pidgin 2.4 or the portable version?

FileZilla: Include Link to older version on App-page

Submitted by yalla on February 27, 2008 - 7:25am

I just noticed that FileZilla 3.0.7.1 was available so I thought I'd give it a try. Interface looked nifty but then I realized that the support for SOCKS-proxies is non-existant.
Which is a real pity, I really need that feature along with some other features which aren't supported (yet).[1]

Anyways, there are a couple of errors in FileZilla's portable app-page[2]:

1) "Features: It supports [...] SOCKS4/5 and HTTP1.1 support [...]"
-> Not true for this version.

settings not read by putty port.

Submitted by ottosykora on February 19, 2008 - 7:01am

I have tried to import the settings from my desktop putty (same version 0.60) but it refuses to work.
I exported the registry branch and placed it into the setting as putty.reg. When I view the content it looks ok.
Then start the putty portable, the settings are not present.
However when closing putty portable, the putty.reg is renamed into putty.reg.old and new putty.reg file is created.
Seetings done then on the putty portable itself will be kept in this new reg, provided the putty is closed ordinaly and not somehow by the telnet session itself etc.

Major Pidgin Portable Problem

I tried to open Pidgin Portable just now (it's the latest one). I get as far as entering my MSN details, after I click on OK, it brings up the Pidgin Portable windows, but with nothing in them. It freezes instantly and then comes up with the following error message:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pidgin has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.

PuTTY: Moving from SecureCRT: SSH2 public keys

Submitted by v4ixapdbm on February 13, 2008 - 10:33pm

Basically, I want to ditch non-portable, closed SecureCRT and start using PuTTY. I've got a bunch of SSH2 public keys in SecureCRT format.

I would like to import the SSH2 public keys into the putty.reg file. Any method to do this would be easier than reverifying everyone's fingerprints.

If the key on the remote computer is in the form of:

ssh-dss {public key all on one line}

then, SecureCRT simply reformats it like this:

---- BEGIN SSH2 PUBLIC KEY ----
{public key from above, wrapped 68 characters per line}
---- END SSH2 PUBLIC KEY ----
