Hi, I have updated my unofficial package of Pidgin Portable to version 2.3. Please see my blog post here:
http://iamtheengineman.blogspot.com/2007/11/pidgin-portable-updated-to-v...
You can also download the file from here:

Please note the following warning from John (one of the great developers here at PortableApps.com)
As stated previously, the installer and launcher are both changing dramatically in the next release. If you install an unofficial package
I recently switched to Pidgin Portable from a standard pidgin install
(company made me uninstall "unlicensed" software). One thing I noticed,
which is only a minor inconvenience compared to the benefits of pidgin over
the standard sametime client, is that when I log in after the initial
Sametime configuration, only one buddy per group shows up. I also, apparently,
show up as inactive to users. If I remove and re-add the Sametime account, everything shows up as per normal. This doesn't happen with AIM, Yahoo or Jabber accounts, only Sametime.
Greetings
i have recently been playing with Pidgin Portable at my college campus, and it appears (according to the debug logs) that the proxy blocks connections to the msn server. Does anyone know of another secure msn address i can connect to, or a proxy software that i can install at home so i can bounce the msn connection from the college, to my home then to the msn network.
207.46.28.93 (messenger.hotmail.com:1863) is blocked
Thanks in advanced
Hey everyone, I was wondering. Has anyone else had any trouble doing file transfers, particularly between AIM6 and PidginPortable 2.1.1? I'm getting some errors, and it goes through from AIM to PP, but not vice versa.
Hello everybody.
I don't know if this could be doable, but would there be any way of managing shortcuts such a hyperlinks received through Pidgin (for example) to be opened with Mozilla Firefox Portable instead of the default web browser (if it is installed, that is), without doing it the manual way ?
Thanks in advance for the replies.

no complaints here. thank you very much for Pidgin Portable.
fyi (in case you didn't know), 2.1.1 is fairly unstable in certain circumstances. and 2.2.2. fixes many stability problems.
peace,
david

sorry my bad english
I use Pidgin with MSN protocol.
Windows Messenger Live currently allows users to add a Yahoo! address to friend list.
However, it doesn't work with Pidgin.
When I want to add a friend who used Yahoo! address, I got a message:
"johndoe@yahoo.com is not a valid passport account"
Is there a way to work around that? I don't have a Yahoo! account.
Thanks.
