Inkscape not updating

Submitted by jojothehobo on September 8, 2017 - 5:00pm

When I open my portableapps platform I get a notice that there is an update for Inkscape. I then click on the update button. The other updates go just fine. Inkscape doesn't. I get the message below.

Unable to download the file. This could be due to a proxy or other network issue....

Submitted by eknight74 on August 3, 2017 - 4:10pm

I am not allowed to install software on my work computer. I have the most recent versions of inkscape and ghostscript installed on a jump drive. I installed them in the following drives:

[Fixed] Inkscape automatic language switching broken

Submitted by depp.jones on April 1, 2017 - 10:20am

As Guki42 found out here, automatic language switching is broken in InkscapePortable 92.1. The folder structure seems to have been altered in this version. Here is a fix for a new revision:
Change Line 23

CheckIfExists=%PAL:AppDir%\Inkscape\locale\%PAL:LanguageCustom%\*.*

to

CheckIfExists=%PAL:AppDir%\Inkscape\share\locale\%PAL:LanguageCustom%\*.*

This topic is a translation and for the bug tracker.

[Fixed] IrfanView Portable is missing Ghostscript handling

Submitted by sosolala on March 16, 2017 - 7:40am

Dear All,

I have installed (latest version each, all portable)

- Portable Apps Platform
- Ghostscript
- Irfan View
- Irfan View Plugins

It fails opening EPS saying
"Decode error"
"Can't load Ghostscript"

Going to
Options => Properties => Plugins => Postscript Options
you can change the custom path for Ghostscript gsdll32.dll to
Driveletter\PortableApps\CommonFiles\Ghostscript\bin

But this does not help as is fails with
"Decode error"
"Can't start Ghostscript"

When wwill we see an XnView MP portable instead of the non-unicode XnView Classic?

Submitted by JarC on February 10, 2017 - 4:44pm

As the subject, when will we see XnView MP as portableapps release instead of the non-unicode classic version? Most everyone by now is running some form of Unicode compliant OS so the proliferation of filenames containing Unicode characters is rising. I've already had numerous occasions where the classic version was unable to properly detect images and videos because their names consisted/contained Unicode characters.
