I wanted to use GIMP 2.10.6, but after I installed it, there was no desktop icon shortcut. So I tried again - and this time, I saw what the problem was:
The default installation has no implied shortcut(!)
If you're looking for it, chose the "Customize" option. Somewhere along that line, check the "create desktop icon" box. After the installation is finished on that path, the icon should appear on your desktop screen.

First, it is great to fscPortable (Fast Stone Capture) added to the suite.
Just one question, why is the Video Capture (Screen Cast) is missing from this edition?

According to https://www.gimp.org/news/2018/05/20/gimp-2-10-2-released/#added-support... there should be support for HEIF image format. However when try to open any .heic file (iPhone photos) on Windows 10 (64bit) it's not recognized / "Unknown file type".

Any advice what could be the problem?

I have now for weeks that the update of IrfanView to 4.51 fails. The following happens:

1. I have the Updater tell me that 4.51 is available.
2. I goto "Next".

Hi.

This is my first time posting in this forum.
I have a huge issue after the 2.10 update. Now, GIMP will not save ANY files, and will only open XCF files.

Reproducing the issue:

SAVING:
- Open GIMP.
- Create a new document
- Try to save it.
When clicking the Save button, it turns grey, but nothing happens. The button will then not be pushed.

In the latest portable release (GIMPPortable_2.10.0-2.paf.exe) that I have installed in portable apps I am having major issues using the program. Things like no descriptive text when I hover over the tools, selecting pencil shows no circle on the graphic when I try to draw, I cannot save my ".xcf" files. There are more but I didn't want to make the list too big.

Currently it is unusable.

Is it possible to open SONY ARW files with GIMP, using RAWTHERAPEE protable as a converting tool
