When starting the new GimpPortable2.2.12en_us I get the following popup window message:

Title: gimp-2.2.exe - Application Error
WindowMsg: The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click on OK to terminate the application.

After clicking the OK button this message goes away and PortableGimp fails to start.

I think, based on other items in this forum, that this is most likely caused by a gtk conflict on my machine as Acer Arcade is known to use xmlparse.dll and xmltok.dll. These files were not located in the windows or system directory, nor were they stored anywhere within the path of this computer:

The Gimp help can't be accessed within Gimp Portable. It's an .exe file that needs to be downloaded separately (over 20 MB) and, when started, doesn't find a registry entry if Gimp is not installed regularly. I didn't manage to make it load within Gimp (a geek or gimp should know how to, though, and please let the non-geeks know!). But, I finally got at the help file anyway. Not bad for a non-geek, eh?

Here's how to: Get an extractor (like "Universal Extractor") and extract with it the gimp-help-2-0.9-setup.exe. You get some file and a folder named "{app}". Click yourself through that folder to your language. The help is there in many .html files. You start out best by double-clicking on "ch01.html", as this is where the help file begins. From within it you can navigate to all the other .html files, e.g. by clicking on the "next" links in each page. That's it.

I am unable to save am image to anything but GIMP's XCF. I will just hand as if it is doing something. Then it won't let me select cancel but I can continue to edit the image. Only stating this issue because i thought it was fixed in 2.2.12. Forgive me if I am wrong. I am running Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4

am using portable gimp on a usb drive.
current installation can't check fonts on system unit that usb drive is plugged into, and portable gimp says no fonts installed. I notice that a new beta is out that refers to portable gimp using fonts. How does one do this, so that one can insert/append notes to images.

I was trying to delete the entire portableGIMP directory from my USB drive and couldn't and was wondering if someone can advise on what I should do? I was able to delete all except 1 file called gtkrc and keeps telling me access denied. I was able to rename and copy the file, but unable to delete and change the attribute. Thanks for any assistance.

how is possible to change gtk theme in portable gimp?

The following errors occur on my machine when attempting to load portable gimp.

Tried to install Gimp for the first time but I get a rather odd error This application has failed to start because libglib-2.0.0.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

It doesn't fix the problem I've found a more recent version of libglib-2.0-0.dll on the web and tried to replace the old version to see if that would help but it doesn't.

Any suggestions welcome
