I am having some strange issues with the latest version of VLC (besides the folder opening problem mentioned in an earlier thread).
I upgraded all of my portable apps using the new updater, and discovered that the open folder command (Ctrl-F) now crashes VLC after I select a valid folder full of MP3s. Using the file open command to select all the files in the folder works fine.
This worked correctly with VLC Portable 1.1.0. I have not tried it with a non portable version yet.
The error is from the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library,
Assertion failed!
Program: Full path to vlc.exe
File: ../.././src/text/strings.c
Line: 1120
Expression: path[0] == DIR_SEP_CHAR
About elapsed time: After about one hour of video, running RMVB video format, the elapsed time counter stats going crazy. It starts to show much less time that it had to show, like 3 minutes instead of one hour.
And about skipping: When I skip a video the player mixes the image, the video gets very strange, but after a time it comes back to normal.
Could someone fix these problems? I'd be grateful.
Thanks.
There are translation errors in the current release of VLC portable (tested with Dutch, German and French). I reported this at the forum of VLC, and they re-uploaded the installation files with the correct translations.
Could you guys please consider making a new release of the portable version of VLC 1.1.2?
Thanks in advance!
VLC v 1.1.1 cant play .ts .pvr - need the earlier version ?
where can i download it ?
I'm sorry - another question:
I like to have the player together with the video files on CD/DVD (VLC Portable Live).
I prepared all on hard disk and everthing worked well. But since i burned this all together to DVD VLCPortable fails to start wo/ a note.
I think VLC needs write access to the config directory.
Is there a way to pass something like "SettingsDirectory=%TEMP%\cfg\VLC" to VLCPortable.exe at startup?
Thanks in advance!
I tried to turn off the splash screen this way: vlc portable-other-source-vlcportable.ini-disablesplashscrenn=true. But it doesn't work, the splash screen still appears. By the way, I have windows 7.
It seems since V1.5 vlc doesn't support relative paths in playlists any longer.
As i use vlc on portable devices together with the media files the drive letters change. So the latest vlc releases are pretty useless for me.
Are there any workarounds, tweaks, ...?
Thanks in advance!
Are there plans for an ipod version of vlc portable?
Hello,
Are there any sources for new visualizations for the
VLC program ? I don't think GOOM even works in the
current release. Something soft and random would be a
big improvement, otherwise it appears to be working OK.
I think several more visualizations in the release would
be a big improvement.
thanks,
patrick
