Submitted by deodion on April 17, 2008 - 12:13pm

i have 2 different folder, which is one is firefox portable only
and the other +plugin

the one with plugin i change the exe into FirefoxPortable + Plugin.exe

both of them i try to run (i often use the +plugin one), and i notice the FirefoxPortable.exe (clean one) and FirefoxPortable + Plugin.exe will disappear and only show firefox.exe at task manager

if i remember correctly since i installed this and after a few days use, it supposed to be show 2 processes at task manager the firefox.exe and the FirefoxPortable + Plugin.exe, for example...

Firefox Portable - Does it leave any trace at all?

Submitted by Mike_Gore on April 15, 2008 - 6:43pm

My question regards Firefox Portable. I am currently using this software from the USB drive (flash disk), and wanted to know if it leaves any trace whatsoever on the machine it is used (whether it be encrypted or unencrypted files, cookies, history, URLs typed on the address bar etc).

When using IE7, if I downloaded a file, what IE7 would do is, it would download the file to the Temperary Internet Folder, and once download is completed it would copy from the TIF location to the saved location. How does this work in Firefox Portable, when downloading files videos?

Images not loading

Submitted by nwebb on April 14, 2008 - 3:28pm

Recently, some images in some websites quit appearing in Firefox Portable; in Wunderground only the ads appear, in Wikipedia nothing does, most sites are fine. Images were OK until about a week ago, and are fine in regular Firefox and IE. I installed some add-ons about the time this happened, but not simultaneous with this (I don't think); I uninstalled them, the problem persists. I ran the test at http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=288184 (I can see only the first image), nothing.

Window settings

Submitted by newbie23 on April 14, 2008 - 12:23pm

Hello,

i was wondering where Firefox stores the window setting.

When i maximize the window close Firefox and start again the windows is maximized again.

Can someone tell me where these settings are stored.

takes time to switch tabs and don't stop running.

FFP 2.0.0.13

The title says everything. It takes probably 3-4seconds to switch a tab to another.
i have installed tab Mix Plus. Is that the reason? But I have really got used to Tab Mix Plus and hope not to disable it.

Also, even though I close the program, FFP is still running so that I can't take my USB drive off. I know I can stop a program by using task manager, but computers at my college won't let me open the task manager by hitting ctrl+alt+delete for a security reasons, I guess. What is going on with FFP?

firefox portable live cd helper app mime types

Submitted by paleozogt on April 13, 2008 - 1:56am

According to the firefox portable support page, firefox supports configuring mime types for other portable helper apps. It also says that firefox portable supports running from a cd.

While the portable helper apps configuration will work on writable media, it breaks once you run firefox on read-only media. Specifically, it breaks when you use the FirefoxPortable.ini file (as described in the firefox portable live directions).

Backup

Submitted by anacondasnake on April 12, 2008 - 5:45pm

Hi all,

Previously, I had a post regarding my Firefox getting really slow and pages take ages to load, and in a lot of cases, don't load in the 1st place...

What I want to do is run a new Portable Firefox, but want to backup my information from this current one...
How can I backup the following:
- visited websites
- saved usernames/passwords
- installed extensions (instead of having to reinstall all of them again)

For Bookmarks, as far as I recall, its from "Organize Bookmarks", then Export or Import...

How can I backup/Restore the above mentioned data in Firefox?
