Error Compiling

Submitted by Takodo on March 30, 2008 - 4:35pm

Hello,

I am trying to compile portable Firefox using the .nsi script. I have not written this script but really need to get it to work.

It gets to the second last line and gives an error in the compiler.

Invalid command: newadvsplash::wait
Error in script "D:\****\FirefoxPortable.nsi" on line 510 -- aborting creation process

I believe this is to due with the splash screen. Any ideas how to begin fixing this?

Thanks In Advance!!!

Latest upgrade messed up my Mozilla

Submitted by spanousis on March 28, 2008 - 4:22pm

After the latest automatic upgrade (around March 25-26/08), I can no longer use my Firefox. The internet window opens up with a message that my computer can't communicate with my homepage (Yahoo), but it can't communicate with ANY website, no matter which one I choose. What's happening? Oh, I'm writing from my work computer right now, and that lousy update just loaded itself up and will finish doing its damage the next time I start up Firefox, which means I won't be able to use it here anymore either! HELP! What do I do to get my Firefox back?

New version of FirefoxPortable.exe with Fx Portable 2.0.0.13?

Up to and including Fx Portable 2.0.0.12, when I started it, FirefoxPortable.exe would load firefox.exe and then terminate. Now, after my first install using Fx Portable 2.0.0.13, FirefoxPortable.exe does not terminate and establishes firefox.exe as a daughter process. (Thunderbird Portable has worked like this for some time now, so it's not a totally new experience.)

Why the change? What's the benefit?

(I did a cursory search for something on this, but didn't find anything. If I missed it... sorry.)

Thanks.

While looking through forums,I read about a problem I also have with my usb protable firefox.I have a developed firefox, bookmarks, plugins, add ons, theme etc.Lot of time. Exit mozilla firefox, remove safely usb. Later plug in usb start mozilla firefox, only to see that nothing remains of my development. Profile setting all erased,or not remembered. FF2.0.1.3,the most recent. I have more than one usb with fire fox,I do not want the up date if this is what is going to happen. There is no stopping the up date.It is automatic, which I think is a mistake.

Good morning or evening to some of you.

I been using Firefox portable on my usb key Corsair or OCZ.

Lately I have notice that their a huge problem that I am getting with Firefox profile.

Everytime I would load Firefox from my usb key, it would load like I just install from fresh. I would see the license agreement and Firefox would load up and everything I have is GONE!

ADDONS, Bookmarks and settings all are gone! I check in the \FirefoxPortable\Data\profile and it has no past history of any sign of my own profile.

FF Crashes when drive disconnects...

Submitted by stands2reason on March 26, 2008 - 9:12am

I run Firefox Portable off of my USB drive, which sometimes has a loose connection. So, occasionally when I'm browsing, Firefox will just crash. I'll check the drive, find that it's not connected, reconnect it, and continue browsing--but it is still a problem.

I am wondering if there is a way to change this in about:config so that instead of crashing, Firefox can let me know that it can't access its files, then I can reconnect it. Or maybe this is an update that I can suggest?
