Helloo and thanks for a great PA!
I'm wondering if i can update Portable Firefox v1.5 to v1.5.0.1 with the 'Check for updates' dialogue? Will it remain Portable Firefox and everything as such or become/convert to the normal Firefox?
Cheers
Alrighty... heres my situation.
I have flash player 8 installed on my Portable Firefox via NPSWF32.dll. I have version 8, but for testing purposes I want to be able to switch between flash player 8, 7, and 6 seemlessly, Is there anyway I can do this easily?
I tried deleting NPSWF32.dll for 8 and copying NPSWF32.dll for 7.. BUT it doesnt change versions, it stays with 8.
I can do this with the non portable version by uninstalling/installing different versions, but its incredibly tedious and isnt really worth the trouble.
Any Ideas on how to do this? or inputs for better ways to do it using Flash 8 Professional?
I've got PFF 1.5 cross platform running on my USB key. The browser itself works just fine on both platforms, but I've been seeing some strange behavior with extensions.
I'm running, among others, Greasemonkey and Adblock Plus. I set them up on OS X, and everything was fine. Half the time when I run PFF, Adblock works fine and all my GM scripts work fine. The other half, neither work at all. Both extensions run, but they don't actually do anything. The menus are up, GM claims the scripts are running, but nothing actually happens. In fact, even the DOM inspector doesn't work. It runs, but it sees no nodes. This strikes me as extraordinarily strange.
Heya folks,
I'm a new user to the portable apps..it's been a real life saver on campus. I dig it big time.
In any case, I am trying to print webpages and such (in PFF) on a network printer with no luck. The printer is recognized and all seems well..but the data is never passed on to the printer. The printer works fine, as does window's communication with the printer (PFF is the only app I can't print from)..so I'm not sure if it is how I have PFF configured or the nature of having PFF run from a thumbdrive. (Abiword does work on the other hand - just tested it)
Anyone else have this problem?
On a corporate pc, can the browser history still be logged (by IT) if one uses portable firefox? If so, how likely is this to happen?
I would like to know if anyone can help me to set an html file on my usb drive as the home page for PF to open from.
I want to be able to click this stored page and get it to open with portable firefox.
It is important that the page not be online.
Can anyone help me...and please dont get toooo technical with the answers.
Thanks
Hi, everyone.
I am using Portable Firefox 1.5. When I run the program in maximized mode, I have a gray area below the status bar, about an inch and a half/4 cm high that greatly reduces the application's real estate. I can actually get the window much larger if I am NOT running maximized.
Can anyone tell me how I can get rid of this?
Thanks in advance!
For some reason, I can't play any Windows Media videos embedded in a website. Do I need a special plugin? According to Microsoft's site, the Windows Media installer will automatically detect Firefox's plugin folder, but will this work with PFF? I can view Quicktime videos fine, just not Windows Media. Thanks.
No seriously though. Can I run these portable apps using linux? Currently I'm on SuSe 10... If it is possible, how do I go about it? Linux doesn't handle .exe in the same way as windows hmm.
Cheers,
Gabe
