Save Image As... no longer working

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on January 1, 2006 - 7:15pm

Recently updated to portable 1.5, and I can no longer do a "Save Image As" The option is there, but there is no other reaction. I somehow doubt that it is because of the new version, because I believe it was working even afterwards.

Adblock was blocking certain Flash elements before, but the pictures I want to save come up fine on the screen. I can drag and drop to a folder or desktop, but otherwise, the menu option to Save Image As simply doesn't work.

Anybody run into this?

Darren

Automatic Proxy Configuration URL - on USB drive (file:// ??)

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on December 29, 2005 - 4:23pm

When I want to use the Portable Firefox on my work and home, the proxy setup must differ per environment. I've tried to use a proxy.pac within the Automatic Proxy Configuration URL, but it didn't seem to work with a file URL (file://).

Has anybody else experience with these automatic proxy configuration on a USB drive using Portable Firefox??

Any help is appreciated!! Thanks in advance.

PFF software update

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on December 29, 2005 - 8:49am

First thanks to all the contributed to this project you made a great mobile product.

I can't seam to get the software update to stop checking everytime a new PFF window opens. It always checks and then i have to click finish, I have taken the checks out of the auto update options but still it continues checking. I don't notice this at home on regular FF but every new window in PFF it checks. Thanks for any input.

popups dont show

Hello.

Great site and applications. I am a fan.
(Since this is my first post, I thought I should mention this Smile ).

I copied my settings from my previous windows embedded firefox version to the portable version. Most things go well, but one thing that is pretty unpractical is that popups wont open anymore (no ads, but the kind of popups you ask for, like edit boxes etc.).

Since I did not change the settings, and it previously worked, I guess it is not a setting somewhere but has something to do with the transfer to the portable version.

I checked the documentation here, but no result, so this post.

Viewing Secure sites

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on December 28, 2005 - 11:36pm

I haven't seen this topic raised, and can't find it as a known bug so here we go.
I can't view secure sites using portable Firefox.
anything with a https address eg https://mymail.com.au/
Returns an error page as below:
"Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at mymail.com.au.

* Check the address for typing errors such as
ww.example.com instead of
www.example.com

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
