JPortable Archive?

Submitted by kdee on November 8, 2012 - 6:43pm

Is there a jportable archive where a person can download older versions of the software to run with the current Firefox Portable?

I have an application that requires java v1.6.0.04, but all I can find is v1.7.0.09 on the portable apps website

If there is no archive, is there any way to get that older version working by installing the latest v1.7.0.09 jportable and then ripping out the guts and replacing it with the guts of a full java v1.6.0.4 install? or something like that?

Thanks.....

Possible to use portable FoxIt as embedded PDF reader?

Submitted by durex on November 8, 2012 - 11:50am

As the title states... is it possible to use FoxIt reader portable as the embedded PDF reader? I tried copying "npFoxitReaderPlugin.dll" from an existing install on a PC where the normal version FoxIt reader has been installed and placed in the FF portable plugins folder, but while I get the initial loading progress bar, the PDF never loads.

Thanks!

How to Disable Portable App message at Portable Firefox startup

Submitted by NGambit on November 5, 2012 - 12:39pm

Hello!
I'm using portable Firefox to port our application to clients using a usb drive. However, whenever the browser is launched there is a popup message (only for a couple seconds) with Mozilla Firefox logo and portable edition logo side by side, and portable apps url at the bottom.

Is there a way I could disable this message at startup so that the clients won't see it?

Tmp files inside "\FirefoxPortable" folder

Submitted by farat_as on November 4, 2012 - 5:51am

Hi,

I am using 90% Chrome as browser. I very often use Firefox.

Firefox creates .tmp files inside its own root folder: "D:\PortableApps\PortableApps\FirefoxPortable" directory. The number of these .tmp files are multipying every time I saw them.

I try to remove them but they are re-creating themselves automatically.
I try to remove - install FirefoxPortable but it did not solve the problem.

I had the problem since 2 month, but I forgot to write here on the forums.

I make always the updates of PortableApps platform.

Firefox plugins

FF portable is setup so it doesn't load plugins from harddisk. And in the portable drive folder for plugins are these: flashplayer.xpt, nppdf32.dll(10.1.4.38), NPSWF32.dll(11.5.500.85), NPSWF64.dll(11.5.500.85)

And it work on most web videos, fx this one works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRBc1t06paw&feature=relmfu

But then there are often also some that just appear as a black box, fx. this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ri8rju7sZLI

And it doesn't even report "Missing plugin", it's just black. But if same URL is opened with IE installed on harddisk it does work.

How to allow multiple instances with 2nd profile?

Submitted by ShalaMala on October 30, 2012 - 12:15pm

Putting the FirefoxPortable.ini in FirefoxPortable folder and setting AllowMultipleInstances=true allows me to start multiple instances of FirefoxPortable.
But when I want to start FirefoxPortable2ndProfile while FirefoxPortable is already running it wouldn't start, saying that another instance is already running. How can I enable FirefoxPortable2ndProfile to allow multiple instances? I tried putting the FirefoxPortable.ini in the FirefoxPortable2ndProfile folder and setting AllowMultipleInstances=true like in my previous case, but it doesn't work!
