Submitted by lone ranger on February 27, 2008 - 4:45pm

Hi all. I satarted using TBP recently, and filled up most of the memory on the USB flash. I deleted many of my emails, but that caused my available space to SHRINK. How do I actually free up memory? (i tried hitting the "compress" button, but got some error. Would appreciate some help with this

"Empty Trash" disappears the Trash folder

Submitted by jedd.jarvis on February 25, 2008 - 11:02am

When I right-click a Trash folder and choose "Empty Trash", the trash folder disappears. Then I can no longer delete messages in that account. Apparently there is no place for them to go. The same behavior happens in Email Accts, RSS Accts, and Local Folders.

If I restart TB then the Trash folder appears again, complete with all items that were supposed to have been deleted.

Problem whit connecting SMTP server riseup.net

Submitted by ceviche on February 23, 2008 - 12:19pm

Hola,
I use Tb portable since 5 months ago, and all worked fine.
But one week ago, i can't send mails.
My TB says:
""the message no could be sent because connecting SMTP server mail.riseup.net failed. The server maybe unavailable or is refusing SMTP conections. Please verify that your SMTP settings is correct and tray again, or else contact your network adminstrator"
what's the problem?
(sorry for my english)

thanks!!!

Thunderbird 1.5 vs 2.0

Submitted by arizona480 on February 22, 2008 - 5:09pm

I've tried 2.0 before, but it lacks having the drop down view menu to the left of the the message search menu which allows you to view messages that you have "labeled", "people I know", "has attachments", "recent", etc. Is this feature actually on 2.0 but hidden or can be resurfaced with an extension?

Also, having the search field on top along with the toolbar icons limits the number of icons I can put up there (I use the lightning calendar, so that adds 5 more).

"Un-"portable the PortableThunderbird

Submitted by littleAdept on February 22, 2008 - 8:25am

Hello dear readers,

this might be a no-brainer but ... how do i reimport my PortableApps-Thunderbird-Profile into my Desktop-PC-Thunderbird-Installation?

Simply copying it over won't do any good, because the file-structure is different, right? (And the paths in prefs.js are as static as they used to be 2 years ago Sad )

Thank you for your replies!

Enigmail

Submitted by apt105 on February 21, 2008 - 6:48am

Hi all

I've been playing around with the thunderbird, enigmail and gnupg
portable setup as described on the thunderbird support page and have
found that the gpg keys are actually being stored in
%APPDATA%\gnupg rather than
..\CommonFiles\gpg\Data. Is there any way to change this?

Cheers

Cant Open Mail ??

Submitted by XSCCASPER on February 20, 2008 - 3:42pm

I can retrieve and download my mail with no problem. I can also preveiw the mail in the preview pane, however when i double click on the line of the message i want to ope, nothing happens. I can reply, forward, and reply all at which point tb opens the proper screen, but i cannot simply "open" any messages. Anyone ever had this problem or have any idea how to fix it ?
