Hi all,
hi,
I've made some changes to ThunderbirdPortable.nsi to get TB-Tray(http://sniperbeamer.de/tbtray) to work.
Complete package containing TB-Tray, modified source and compiled exe is available at [link removed by moderator JTH. While you're free to modify the launcher under the GPL, you can't use the Thunderbird name or logo in connection with it, sorry.]
bugfix
Hello,
I've been trying to download & install Thunderbird Portable onto a USB drive. But ".exe" doesn't seem to arrive with the download. On one attempt the program itself opened and we went through the account set up; it worked on the original computer but not when the USB was plugged into another computer - "exe. not found" was the reason. Second attempt: it wouldn't start up at all because no .exe found.
The download & install processes were a bit different from the simple instructions on the Thunderbird Portable page, by the way - nothing to double click.
I wish to import all extensions, settings, addresses, etc from local TB2009 to TBPortableapps. I think I know how to do this, but I prefer asking to be sure. I went to this page
https://portableapps.com/support/thunderbird_portable#local_profile
It says “Just copy all of those files to the Data\profile directory within Thunderbird Portable.”
My question is this.
First there are 2 yellow folders in Profile folder of my local TB. One says “default” and the other says “default user”. Which do you recommend I use? Or do I import both?
My second question.
I do not know, if it is a feature or a bug: I have several address books in my Thunderbird. When I organize my addresses and drag and drop a contact from one addresbook to another, it copies it instead of moving it. It works normally ( move ) on my not Portable Thunderbird.
Another question: Is there a way ( add on ? ) to make a search in more than one addressbooks ? ( the search looks only in one addressbook, and I would like to make the search through all of them )
I use thunderbird portable at home without problems. At the work, however, is running a server exchange. I'm able to recive personal mail but i can not send. I can not set the SMTP server output. What should I do? TBP works with exchange server? I've tried to add a new server smt in the account settings.
Hello,
I am looking for a way to change the programs that TBP offers to open an attachment with to a PortableApp.
I was searching around and just trying some placeholders for the driveletter (manipulating mimeTypes.rdf with an editor) did not work either.
Is there any way to tell TBP, that the program to be used is on the same driveletter as TBP itself (because it is a Portable App as well)? Is there any placesholder to be used in mimeTypes.rdf?
Your help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks a lot,
Jan
Hi,
Im sorry if I asked this question again, but I look numerous of pages and I cant find the answer. And I desperately need help.
I am using vista and I follow the 'generic' guide by going to the documents & settings///xxx.default. THe problem is I only have xpc.mlf & xul.mlf to copy. So I am missing the rest of the files. But I can find them in Program File.
No matter what I do, I just cant get the portable TB to show my thousand of emails stored in my laptop TB. Please please help. I am so worn out.
Hi,
may be a silly approach. But I've tried to copy a working version of Thunderbird Portable form an USB Stick onto a local folder. Just to use alle my settings (it's only IMAP so I mean using addressboook, signature, Zertificates,...) also on my PC.
After coppiing the files over, I noticed that the German dictinary is considered as incompatibel version. Reinstalling helps, but every resynch (only the changes files and also the complete folder structure) fails with the same messaqe.
So I wounder if:
a) The German Dict. IS not Portable aware
For some strange reason now when I click on a link in an email my browser will not open, nothing happens, but this is only on my home computer. Using my portable Thunderbird here at work it works fine, anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
STanzman
