Thunderbird Portable

On the download page of PTB, there is a link for getting Thunderbird in other languages, which is this link here:

At that location, there is a link to dowload an Aviary language pack, but I could never get to the location that the link specifies. I Recomend changing the link to:

Upgraded PTB from 1.5.0.8 (?) WITHOUT enigmail/GPG to 1.5.0.10 WITH enigmail/GPG
The only extension I had (before upgrade) was SMTPSelect.

There is no OpenPGP menu item, or any indication that it is installed.

I tried renaming the PTB directory and installing from scratch, and then it's there - but now I don't have my profile and mail (I have many accounts so it'd be hard to set up again.)

Can anyone help me either activate OpenPGP, or tell me how to copy all my profile accounts and mail from 'broken' version to 'good' version?

I am new to Thunderbird Portable, so this is probably a lame question!

In the full version I was able to create a .html file with my personalized signature. My .html file contains a .jpeg. I can't seem to get it to appear when I use TB Portable? Am I missing a step?

Also, I am having trouble subscribing to a newsgroup via TB Portable? Is there a trick to that too?

Does anyone know if it is possible to have TBP2 stop unnecessarily updating the msf files for mail boxes I do not touch???

I run TB2 at home and I use Migo Software to sync my user data to a USB flash drive and then run TBP2 from it when I am at the office. Unfortunately TB and TBP both seem to regenerate ALL of the MSF files for all of the mail folders, even if I only touched one or two folders.

This is frustrating because I have over 600 folders (10 years of email) and the sync process see hundreds of files it has to deal with each time.

If everything dissappeared, email and accounts and I wish to copy Thunderbird to my harddrive on the desktop it saids that my sent-file + some others are corrupted and can not be moved.

What can I do and how can I save my emails?

Can I rename them and try to open them in say Outlook or is there any other way??

I use PTB as my email client (from a USB Key) to have access to TB on both a laptop and desktop, depending where I am. I would like to have the right click - send to - mail recipient use PTB on Vista but it doesn't appear in any program defaults list (and there doesn't seem to be anyway to choose a program not traditionally installed) Anyone know a workaround? Can I install TB and then modify some settings so that it looks for PTB?

I deleted the files outlined in the "upgrading to TB2b2" thread, and that got rid of the entry at the bottom, but in the subject area, all the header information is displayed, which often makes it impossible to read the message without minimizing the subject area.
Note: I upgraded using the stable distribution from mozilla.com.

I installed TBP 2.0 yesterday on my drive. I have a 1 GB PNY Attache. When I attempt to launch it from my drive, nothing happens.
Thunderbird.exe shows up in my task list however I see no other signs of it running. I've tried ending the process & relaunching, I've uninstalled the previous versions that were on my harddrive, I've reinstalled it to no avail.

I can run it from my home computer (it takes forever to load) but at work I am stuck.

I am on a novell network with virusscan & I am an administrator on my computer...

Any ideas?

Everything was fine, I quit the program and then removed the USB stick. Next time my account and everything else was gone. The account wizard came up and wanted to create a new account.

I have done nothing myself to do any backups, but there is some files (about 500MB) in a folder on the USB stick that I think has to do with Thunderbird.

I tried "open saved messages" but I'm not sure I did it right. How do I get my profile back and my sent/inbox??

sometimes TB changes the mail views to it;s own liking , and when i change it look like subject, date , sender ,size it resets it self and the order is changed back, this is very annoying , any ideas please.i think this happens in all TB versions
because i have come across it in all the versions.
