Thunderbird Portable

I've noticed that Thunderbird Portable can sometimes leave behind an empty Extensions folder within APPDATA\Mozilla when installing certain extensions and restarting the current release of Thunderbird. This bug is noted and will be addressed in the next release.

Hi, Just wondering when/if the portable gpg binaries will be updated? I'm trying to avoid compiling them myself! L~

I use both pop3 and imap.

Now none of this works.

I changed the cached connections from 5 to 1 and it do not works yet.

Hello, since I recently bought SSD, I desided to redirect (mklink command) Firefox folders from %APPDATA% and %LOCALAPPDATA% to RAM Disk (ImDisk Virtual Disk Driver).
More specifically I set up persistent RAM Drive R: that is inicialized from *.img file during logon and written to *.img (on hdd) during logoff.

Then I created symbolic links by
mklink /D %APPDATA%\Mozilla R:\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla
mklink /D %LOCALAPPDATA%\Mozilla R:\AppData\Local\Mozilla

Everything works as expected (preventing writes on SSD)...

My portable apps mozilla thunderbird portable edition updated automatically to the newest edition 31.4.0 but now I am not able to open the email client. I get the error Platform version 31.3.0 is not compatible with minVersion>= 31.4.0 maxVersion

I have been using Thunderbird portable for probably close to 10 years now on a portable drive. I was having no problems until the recent upgrade to 31.3.0 when all of a sudden it starts asking me if I want a new email address and all my old email accounts and files have vanished. What is going on?

Is it possible to get gmail through Thunderbird Portable within the office..
When I tried adding gmail it does not connect.

Could it be that there is some kind of filter or port block in place?

Hi,

unfortunately there are some comments in support forum about Thunderbird which is NOT belongs to portable versions. (i.e. *.xpi cannot install to portable).

Unfortunately the original and portable versions are mixed.

I suggest you to correct them - or improve portable versions to original version level.

Hi all, loved the idea of a portable mail client, but checking the install and start in a sandbox that doesn't really seem to be the case, see here all the folders it created and wrote to:

The other day, after starting ThunderbirdPortable, I found that all of my e-mail was missing. I managed to get the e-mail back by creating a new profile and copying all of the contents of E:\PortableApps\ThunderbirdPortable\Data\profile to a new folder, then copying the contents of the new folder back to E:\PortableApps\ThunderbirdPortable\Data\profile. However, my Lightning calendar tab no longer lists any of the events I'd recorded; my Task tab no longer shows any of my tasks. I tried re-installing the Lightning extension, but that failed to correct the problem.
