Thunderbird Portable

I've got PTB all setup on a USB but I would like tosync it to my desktop and run it from there. Each time I after copying the files to the desktop and running from there, it asks me to set up and account as if it is stating from scratch. There got to be some settings file which is causing this. anyone know which one?

I'll also want to sync back to the USB.

I have my primary TB on my desktop and I need to use it as a reference on my laptop for emails in and out etc.

Can I have a regular TB on my lap as well as the portable?

Will they effect each other?

Which would be the best to use with the Desktop email I have currently as it is extremely big with folders etc.

I just installed PortableApps TB version 2.0.0.12 (20080213).

Since then, I have a gray line 1 inch high at the bottom of TB window below the status bar. There some red text in it that say the following :

Does anybody has the same problem or am I alone ?

Any fixes ?

Hi all,

I'm trying to justify moving from Outlook to Tbird but one the critical parts for me is quick and advanced search using X1 or Copernic. The only way I've gotten them to work is if Tbird leaves the mail in the typical install location. Does anyone know a work around or how to get these programs to index mail for a profile on a separate partition?

I installed the latest version of Thunderbird Portable on a Sony 4Gb memory stick. I set up my gmail IMAP account no problems. I connected to the internet on my W2K home machine and read/deleted etc my email fine. I then synced the mail (and Newsgroup messages) for offline reading and took the USB stick to work. On my work Windows XP, when I launch Thunderbird Portable, the account is there but no email/IMAP folders are visible. (i.e. only the Inbox folder is listed on the account and it is empty)

I checked the following.

TB Portable Performance on an USB Stick is not very good..
Are there some tricks how you can improve the performance?

HI, I'm using portable thunderbird to receive news. I'm using it in my harddisk, so, there's a lot free space in my disk.
But I encounterd an error message box reported:
A news ( NNTP) error occurred: NO spaces left on device writing smstore file--throttling.

Did you see this alert before? How can I fix this problems? thanks!

I logged into Thunderbird portable. The data is saved on our network, not on a memory stick. My hard drive crashed mid-session. Now I cannot log back in from any other terminal.
HELP!

Had to reinstall my profile folder using my backup and everything is fine except I lost all my calendar appts. I have the original profile but don't know which file is my calendar. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Stan
