Can't send email

Submitted by paladin2006 on April 13, 2007 - 2:46pm

I can't send email using TB 1.5 portable although the same settings work just fine in Outlook i.e. pop 110 smtp 587 SSL.

I reinstalled TB but that did not help.

I am using the Premium Yahoo email so this is not a webmail issue.

I called Yahoo support and they were great. We set up Outlook and send and receive worked just fine. On the same machine moments later I reinstalled TB 1.5 portable and it cannot send email.

Has anybody run into this problem and has a solution?

Thanks.

Unable to install british_english_dictionary-1.19-fx+zm+tb.xpi into TBP 2.0 RC1
Error Message:- Incompatible Extension. British English Dictionary 1.19 could not be installed because it is not compatible with Thunderbird 2.0.0.0. (British English Dictionary 1.19 will only work with Thunderbird versions from 2.0a1 to 2.0b1)

The Australian Dictionary english_australian_dictionary-0.2-fx+zm+tb.xpi installs okay.

Failed to create new mail accounts in TBP

Hi,
I am a IT professional from Germany and using Portable Thunderbird on my 2nd hard disk drive, because I am testing software for my company and have to restore my complete system partition from time to time. (I work with the Paragon Software btw. but thats not the point Smile )
I have got about 8 standard mail accounts and tried many times to add new accounts to Thunderbird Portable.

How to find my REPLY mails fast?

Submitted by Dishonest John on April 10, 2007 - 2:40pm

Hi all,

hopefully this is a dumb question for you - but I don't have an answer to it. When I use the wonderful TB Portable, I miss a functionality, to click on the green arrow icon on a received mail (that indicates that I have replied to it) and to JUMP DIRECTLY to this reply message...
I believe such option is available in Outlook, maybe in TB Portable, too?
Or is there an extension that could fix my needs?

Thanks in advance

Samuel

Emails marked as deleted

Submitted by lex2k0 on April 10, 2007 - 12:11pm

Hello Forum-Members!

Since few weeks I'm using Thunderbird parallel to Outlook, so I can read easily my emails if I'm on my way and don't have Outlook at my side.
The Email-Connection is over IMAP, so i only mark emails as deleted. In Outlook I can select that this emails will not be shown in the folders. Is there also such an option in Thunderbird? What do I have to do?

Thanks for your answers!

Release Candidate

Submitted by Patrick Patience on April 10, 2007 - 12:00am

I just downloaded the Thunderbird Release Candidate and today. And this didn't happen on my old version, at the botton of thunderbird, in an ugly red font is this:

"
----^

This didn't happen in my old version, is this anything to do with the release candidate version? I don't know whether this has been mentioned or not.

Signing emails works only with ASCII

(let me know if there is a more appropriate support forum for this issue)

Trying out Thunderbird Portable (1.5.0.10) to see if easy-to-use secure email is finally here. Well, not quite.

I downloaded the Thunderbird+Enigmail+GPG version and went through the rather cumbersome process of getting a Thawte account and a certificate.

Encyption of thunderbird data?

Submitted by dragon2611 on April 8, 2007 - 6:22pm

Is there a way to encypt the thunderbird folder whilst still retain the portablity of it.

If so what would be the best thing to use?

I like the idea of having my email & client on my flashdrive so I can use a full featured client instead of relying on webmail, also being able to re-read emails offline is usefull, however im a bit concerned should i lose my flashdrive someone could find it and read the emails
Which is why id like to use some form of encyption/password protection if possible.
