Thunderbird Portable

I've tried numerous times to add the Lightning 0.9 extension on to Thunderbird Portable but keep getting an error message on program start up.

There's some indication that some part of the extension installed itself, but the overall Calendar/Task functionality is very limited.

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned having this problem. Surely it can't just be me?

So, anyone know how to get TB Portable working with the Lightning extension?

Unable to edit drafts
Unable to access messages with attachments.

Thunderbird Portable version 2.0.0.18 (20081105)

At first it was Read reciepts or failure notices, I cannot open them or delete them. As soon as I select them Thunderbird freezes and I eventually have to Kill the Thunderbird proccess.

When I access the file directly thru - ..\Data\profile\Mail

i find in the message that freezes ThunderBird.

"This is a MIME-formatted message. Portions of this message may be unreadable without a MIME-capable mail program."

The Short
Computers that have never had TBP run on it have all my folders (along the left side) closed, while computers that I have used TBP have all my folders expanded.

I've used Thunderbird portable apps in another lifetime in another world not too long ago. I moved on to a new company recently and to my horror I am not allowed to use my laptop for anything personal! How dare them! I can't even load a cd into my nuetered laptop without sending the disc to the computer Nazi's and have them scan and check it for potential virus's and fingerprints. Since I travel quite a bit I realized the only way to get my emails would be thru the public computers that a hotel would keep in the lobby. Yuck! Who knows where someone's fingers may have been???

Can someone post a ??newer?? Address book shortcut? It doesn't seem to pick up the old file anymore since the new PAM update. The file is there in the Thunderbird folder.

And the link in the "Office" section of applications points to the whole Thunderbird file. I would have thought that it would point to the shortcut file.

I want to make a request, could you please ask the development team of thunderbird portable change the priority order of thunderbird portable to seven priority levels,six priority level is like this Lowest(Most Private)-Low(Private)-Normal-High-Emergency-Critical, and add ExpressMail Feature.

I'm running TB portable from a USB stick using the portable apps menu. Yet I notice that it's using profiles.ini located in my "C:\Documents and Settings\..." folder hierarchy. I thought the whole idea of the portable apps system when used on a USB stick was it should not start messing with the C: drive? How do I stop it accessing (and changing) C:?

I downloaded and installed Thunderbird Portable on a USB Flash Drive, it works fine but I would like to create many profiles because with Outlook Express I used many identities.

I read that you can manage (create/edit/delete) profiles through "profile manager" and you can reach it typing string to the url to .exe file plus "-p" option in the "start->run" prompt, e.g.:
"C:\Programs\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe" -p

When I set up my Thunderbird Portable, I attempted to import some email from my regular Thunderbird programme, via the utility that allows import & export in mbox format. In the process, I discovered that my export had failed, as the folders imported into TBird Portable were empty. I have since been successful at importing what I wanted, but cannot remove the folders that I originally tried to import.

I have emptied the trash and compacted the folders as recommended. Short of uninstalling/reinstalling, is there any way to delete these folders?

Normally I'm a pretty smart guy with computers, but right now I'm going through chemotherapy treatments, so there's a lot of mental confusion. I did try to look up the answer in Thunderbird help and by searching this forum, so my apologies if I missed something simple.
